Franke Swingspray Tap, Chrome
High pressure necessary
Have just had one of these delivered and once the plumber had installed it he informed me that it is designed only for a high pressure hot water system.
A hot water tank on the floor above does not supply adequate pressure so the hot water only trickles out.
As a result, I have wasted a LOT of money by buying this.
There should be a warning in the item description to warn other mugs.

This is the most expensive tap I ever had and the worst tap ever!
The cold water works well but the hot water pressure is so low that you can not mix it with the cold water.
I had the plumber out twice! My hot water pressure is fine below the sink but when it hits the tap the water pressure is very low.
Do not buy this as you will be disappointed.

What a short life
It was a big surprise to know I am not the only one who suffered from this short life product. Mine was also installed around five years ago. At the beginning, it was excellent to use as everyone also said. However, for last two years its movement was gradually getting rigid and finally completely stopped swiveling. The plastic cushion between the pull out spout and the supporting body was broken. As for the stiff turn, I tried to work out how to clean and make the tap movement smooth at their website and the manual but in vain. I understand John Lewis’s explanation about hard water issue, however the company very well recognize that they sell the product at the hard water area. I now decided to change the tap rather than repair when I think about the plumber’s charge.

Not long lasting, alas
The look and functionality of this tap is great. We fitted it in our new kitchen about 5 years ago. Unfortunately it has been prone to leak for a couple of years. A plumber has replaced the ceramic disc but it has started to leak again. Honestly I expected better from an expensive tap. We are about to replace it but I shan't be buying another of these.

Disaster for areas with hard water!
I bought this tap and was pleased with the spray extension which is a good idea. At first I was happy with the product. But after 3 years the tap stopped swinging from one sink to another, it became clogged up inside with limescale. I contacted Franke and they gave me a leaflet on how to take the tap apart - but it is harder than you think! The Limescale makes it impossible to unscrew the bits so I had to employ a plumber. The plumber took a few hours to get the thing apart and clean it out with limescale remover. 18 months later it needs another plumbing session! Therefore it is very expensive to maintain. I do not recommend unless you have a water softener and I shall be replacing my tap with a less complicated version like I had previously that had no problems over a 20 year period. The interior of this tap is not well designed.
