Garmin vivofit Fitness Band
Lost my Vivofit after 4 days! The strap is fiddly to secure & pulls undone very easily, mine came off when out walking & was lost!

Thinking of changing your lifestyle - great feedback tool
Having spent several months weighing up the pros and cons of various fitness bands, this definitely seems to be the best. It is comfortable to wear, it's great that you don't need to recharge it, and best of all its simple and easy read display makes it easy to keep track on just how active you are. I particularly like the red line that appears if you stay still for too long. Great for people, like me. working on a computer for long periods of time.
One of the major drawbacks cited is the lack of an illuminated display. I haven't found it to be a problem.
Having the daily goal is great motivation. Definitely helped me to increase my daily activity levels and to take breaks for long periods sitting at my desk.

Easy to use straight out of the box
I had a look at all of the options available for a fitness tracker and was originally going to buy a FitBit Force - however, two things changed my mind. The first was that no-one (and I mean no-one) could say when the Force was going to be available in the UK - not even FitBit. The second was that it apparently skins you alive, with many people having a massive allergic reactions to materials in the Force's band.
I therefore plumped for the Vivofit and relatively glad that I did. It is comfortable, durable and, after a short time, relatively inconspicuous. My needs are relatively simple - I wanted a device just to ensure that I was keeping active (rather than a device to chart my athletic prowess), and this is what the Vivofit achieves.
A simple scrolling button takes you from time, to date, to steps to date, to steps to go, to calories burned. Initial synchronisation with my Android phone was simple and quick, and daily synchronisation is as simple - just hold the button until "Synch" is displayed.
You can also enter activities manually - e.g. cycling. Wish there was a way to automatically track such activities, but not a massive problem!
Overall, simple to use, simple to synch, accurate, comfortable and no hesitation in recommending.

Bought Garmin as reliable and had existing heart rate monitor strap. Set up painless and also paired with HRM easily. Keeps accurate step count and related distance/ calorie count. Sleep monitoring function interesting to see when moving or deep sleep. Sync with Garmin website via Ant USB works well. Garmin now need to add in other fitness measures such as weight and heart rate analysis to show added value of band and website.

Great product - integrates well with Garmin Connect.
4 weeks in and this is my product of the year. It syncs with Garmin HRM and uploads to Garmin Connect via any of my devices via the supplied ANT+ micro-dongle or Bluetooth.
From there, you can review your sleep patterns, steps, heart rate etc. all in one place. It's making me think more about my lifestyle and how to make small, but useful changes.
I no longer need to take my Garmin 500 to the gym, as the vivofit records the same level of detail from the HRM.
As it has the time, it has completely replaced my watch. It also syncs time, when you sync with your phone etc. It's showerproof, but I haven't taken it swimming yet.
