Product information

With Garmin's Vivofit fitness band, you have an easy-to-read device that learns your activity level and assigns a personalised daily goal to keep you motivated.
Displaying steps, calories and distance upon its crystal clear 25.5 x 10mm screen, it even monitors your sleep to ensure you are getting the most out of every hour of the day.
As you meet your milestones, Vívofit will adjust your goal for the next day, gradually nudging you toward a healthier lifestyle. Using Garmin Connect™, the brand's free-to-use fitness community, you can earn virtual badges and view your progress. Using this service, you can also join online challenges with other Vívofit users or start your own competition with friends to compete for virtual badges and bragging rights.
You can access the free online community from your computer or on your compatible mobile device with the Garmin Connect™ Mobile app.
Research shows prolonged periods of inactivity such as sitting at a desk decreases your body’s production of fat-burning enzymes. You can reverse that effect by taking frequent, short walk breaks throughout your day. And while you might lose track of time and forget to move, Vívofit knows. A red move bar appears on the display after 1 hour of inactivity and builds when you’ve been sitting too long. Just walk for a couple of minutes to reset the move bar.
Vívofit follows your progress 24/7, and it can stay on for more than a year without a battery change. Set the sleep mode when you go to bed and vívofit will monitor your rest. Using Garmin Connect, you can see your total sleep hours as well as periods of movement and restful sleep. The Vívofit band is water-resistant up to 50m, so you can shower or get caught in the rain, worry-free.

Q & As

Garmin vivofit Fitness Band 3.5 5 8 8
Not secure I loved the idea of this product, as a keep fit aid. The two let downs with this product (how the manufacturer did not see this is beyond me) 1. The fastener catches on everything and subsequently falls off the wrist, before you know it; the band is on the floor and has a scratch on the face. 2. It is honestly really difficult to read the time/ display on the band as it faces down your arm and not 90 degrees inwards, like a normal watch. If you are thinking of buying this, try it on and try it out in store to make sure that it is for you, I wish that I had! 28 August 2014
Fell off, now lost Was happy with this until it fell off my wrist and I lost it, after less than 3 months. 18 August 2014
keeps Me Active! Wearing the vivofit not only keeps a track on your steps but gives you a gentle reminder to get ups and move after an hour on the comfy chair! It also keeps track of your movement at night for some interesting viewing on a chart the next day. Not sure if it was meant to come with instructions, but a quick visit to the site and I was up and (literally) running. It can be used for cycling too - I just secure it between the straps of my shoe and record the distance/mileage from my bike tripometer on the database when I return. Keeps me more active - what could be better than that? 22 July 2014
Very disappointed! Lost my Vivofit after 4 days! The strap is fiddly to secure & pulls undone very easily, mine came off when out walking & was lost! 30 June 2014
Thinking of changing your lifestyle - great feedback tool Having spent several months weighing up the pros and cons of various fitness bands, this definitely seems to be the best. It is comfortable to wear, it's great that you don't need to recharge it, and best of all its simple and easy read display makes it easy to keep track on just how active you are. I particularly like the red line that appears if you stay still for too long. Great for people, like me. working on a computer for long periods of time. One of the major drawbacks cited is the lack of an illuminated display. I haven't found it to be a problem. Having the daily goal is great motivation. Definitely helped me to increase my daily activity levels and to take breaks for long periods sitting at my desk. 01 May 2014
Easy to use straight out of the box I had a look at all of the options available for a fitness tracker and was originally going to buy a FitBit Force - however, two things changed my mind. The first was that no-one (and I mean no-one) could say when the Force was going to be available in the UK - not even FitBit. The second was that it apparently skins you alive, with many people having a massive allergic reactions to materials in the Force's band. I therefore plumped for the Vivofit and relatively glad that I did. It is comfortable, durable and, after a short time, relatively inconspicuous. My needs are relatively simple - I wanted a device just to ensure that I was keeping active (rather than a device to chart my athletic prowess), and this is what the Vivofit achieves. A simple scrolling button takes you from time, to date, to steps to date, to steps to go, to calories burned. Initial synchronisation with my Android phone was simple and quick, and daily synchronisation is as simple - just hold the button until "Synch" is displayed. You can also enter activities manually - e.g. cycling. Wish there was a way to automatically track such activities, but not a massive problem! Overall, simple to use, simple to synch, accurate, comfortable and no hesitation in recommending. 27 April 2014
Garmin Vivofit Bought Garmin as reliable and had existing heart rate monitor strap. Set up painless and also paired with HRM easily. Keeps accurate step count and related distance/ calorie count. Sleep monitoring function interesting to see when moving or deep sleep. Sync with Garmin website via Ant USB works well. Garmin now need to add in other fitness measures such as weight and heart rate analysis to show added value of band and website. 22 April 2014
Great product - integrates well with Garmin Connect. 4 weeks in and this is my product of the year. It syncs with Garmin HRM and uploads to Garmin Connect via any of my devices via the supplied ANT+ micro-dongle or Bluetooth. From there, you can review your sleep patterns, steps, heart rate etc. all in one place. It's making me think more about my lifestyle and how to make small, but useful changes. I no longer need to take my Garmin 500 to the gym, as the vivofit records the same level of detail from the HRM. As it has the time, it has completely replaced my watch. It also syncs time, when you sync with your phone etc. It's showerproof, but I haven't taken it swimming yet. 15 April 2014
