Bought it 2-3 weeks ago. Unusable. Everything sticks which is quite annoying when one considers the cost. I tried various approaches as recommended on various websites - no oil, medium, oil, lots of oil, different types of oil. I gave up. Fortunately, the wonderful folks at John Lewis allowed me to change this for a very nice Teflon pan which is great and hey, nothing sticks.

Very dismayed with this pan. As a long-term non-stick user, I chose this because it claimed to be 'greener' ie less potentially toxic than other pans. However, I didnt read the instructions before letting my 15 year old have a pancake session. I imagined one should use it normally. Big mistake, as she used it over half an hour continuously, and possibly overheated it. Brown stains are fused to the surface. I note JL's comments below that you shouldnt overheat, and have now read the extensive 'how to' instructions. Basically, they are suggesting that even though it's a frying pan, you shouldnt use it as a frying pan. This is inane. I will be returning it with some indignation.

Had this pan for almost a year and been continually delighted with it. The non-stick is really outstanding - obviously as with any non-stick surface you avoid jabbing it with knives or scrubbing with steel wool. I overcooked some dumplings that stuck but a little work with a normal kitchen sponge and it was like new pretty quickly - I'm pretty robust with my kitchen stuff and just can't imagine what sort of treatment anybody is giving them that could cause any damage. The inner surface I've got looks a fairer grey than that it looks in the pictures here and they're lovely elegant things. I'm very happy with it.

We bought two Greenpan frying pans (24cm and 20cm) a few months ago. We followed all the instructions - low heat, never put in the dishwasher, rinsed and wiped with a cloth immediately after each use. However, there is a build up of food on the bottom of the 24cm pan (we haven't used the 20cm pan very much. Omelettes stick, and the pan is nowhere near as good as it should be for the time we've had it. We've completely kitted our house out with JL curtains, carpets, cushions, linen, towels, cutlery etc and have been used to excellent quality. We do not believe the Greenpan pans are good value. The saucepans we received for our wedding - different make) are still going strong 25 years later, and we have taken as good care of the the Greenpans as these.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Liz20 It's not non-stick
After 2 or 3 uses food started to stick to the pan, it did come of with lots of soaking and elbow grease but that's not what I expected from a non stick pan. I've been meaning to return it for ages but I am bit embarrassed to turn up at the till with it as its really not looking great. I treated myself to a Crueset frying pan instead and I'm really pleased with that. I'm disappointed the green frying pan was n't a good product because I wanted a greener alternative.

Really good quality frying pan. No need to use oil or any other fat, cooks beautifully! Really easy to clean, love the weight of it.

I've been using one of the large Greenpan frying pans for about a year. The promised hard-wearing, non-stick ceramic coating was a significant attraction, and was the reason I bought this instead of one of the Meyer pans.
I have found that when cooking for any length of time, even at fairly low temperatures, a stuck layer of food tends to build up on the pan - seemingly regardless of the type and amount of oil used. For some dishes it's not really a problem, but it does tend to ruin fried eggs and omelettes in particular.
The burnt layer does de-glaze quite easily when hot water is poured on after cooking, and a scrub with a soapy sponge gets the pan clean pretty quickly, but I feel this generally shouldn't really be necessary with a pan that is supposed to be non-stick.
They do have a lifetime guarantee, but I'm not sure if this problem would be covered.

Rated 1 out of 5 by iews130107 Extremely disappointing - returned after a couple of months use only to be told by staff that it was for use at lower temperatures only!
I bought this frying pan and lid for my son and wife last Christmas. I have just been to stay with them only to find that they have another, much less pricey frying pan because the surface of the other one had deteriorated and sort of chunks of surface had come away from the pan. They returned it to Brent Cross with the relevant paper work to be told that it was not intended to be used at high temperatures and they had caused the damage by doing so. Sorry but this is a FRYING PAN and the definition of frying is not to cook at low temperatures! I feel very aggrieved about this. They had not told me because they felt embarrassed by the situation knowing that it was a carefully chosen present which was relatively expensive (in our family) but bought because I felt that a quality product would last a fair while. Don't buy it - you could have the same experience.
