Q & As

Holmes Bionaire BT150R-IUK Tower Fan with Remote Control 3.6 5 15 15
Good...for 9 days! Worked perfectly for 9 days. Slightly noisy but soon got used to it and did not keep me awake. However...woke up around 2am one morning to fan making odd noise, was still rotating, but not blowing out any air at all. Tried on/off several times to no avail. Broken after 9 days! Not happy! Returned to store but sold out of all fans so can't replace with different brand! 25 July 2013
OK but not Holmes brand but Bionaire I am surprised to see it is labeled as Bionaire brand not Holmes as stated on the website. Could have gone for the other Bionaire BT19 model which seems similar function but cheaper if I knew the actual product is the same brand. Works fine so far, we use it in the living room and helps cooling down the room. 19 July 2013
Looks ok, but noisy and bad... Unfortunately I am very disappointed with this fan, I ordered two fans and while unboxing the first one I was initially thrilled about its tall height and fairly sleek design. Problem started once I plugged it in, fan had poor finishing build quality, (btw fans where labeled Bionaire, not Holmes but with same model number) cheap plastic and had a very flimsy oscillating function. The fan is way too noisy and does not keep the same speed. It struggles to stay on a constant rpm and it will keep you awake even on its lowest setting, the oscillating function sadly makes it even more unreliable and noisy, so I was unable to use it in the bedroom. I called customer service and explained my problem; they set up a return for me within minutes. As always dealing with John Lewis, service is impeccable, they have outstanding customer relations and I will now simply have to find something better (perhaps the Dyson AM05 or NScessity Ultimate Tower Fan). Truly enjoy and recommend buying anything from any John Lewis department store. 16 July 2013
First Class Fan Delivered this morning. Easy and quick to set up.Wonderful cool breeze, so good in this 82 degree heatwave. 15 July 2013
seems expensive, but elegant and unobtrusive Nicely designed with simple modes, programmable with a timer (very useful at night) and breeze/sleep modes. More of a fan heater type design turned vertically, not a traditional fan blade design, so not whisper quiet, but perfect if you want something that rotates and operates (visually) unobtrusively. On lowest setting, it is quiet; the highest setting is probably too noisy for bedtime. It's impressively thin, a little wider than a coke can, but for stability, the base is about the size of a large dinner plate. Despite the size, power use is 40 watts, no more than a desk fan and less than most at this price point. Seems expensive, but it contains a control pad, remote sensor and receiver, programmable modes, etc so it's a little more advanced than the usual fan. 09 July 2013
Too noisy Unfortunately we are disappointed with this fan. We find it is too powerful and noisy and we are unable to use it in the bedroom. Even its lowest setting is very noisy. I had thrown the packaging away otherwise it really should have been returned! 19 August 2012
Great fan - height is useful! Super quiet and very efficient; even on a low speed, this fan does the business. Recommend! 06 August 2012
a peaceful night's sleep A great buy-lots of different settings and stylish to look at. Not noisy either! 29 June 2012
