Exactly what I wanted
I managed to erect this desk myself! I was surprised because I am not a 'handyman'. (Ask my wife) and at 81years of age not very agile, however, it took me 2 hours which I think was quite good considering it was to take 2 men 20 mins to erect.

It's a desk.
It's a sheet of laminated wood on a welded metal frame, and by the look of it made by some factory in the back streets of Shanghigh. The quality of the metalwork leaves something to be desired, especially. However, once it's put together you don't see most of that. Just be sure to follow the instructions and put everything together first, THEN tighten all the screws, or some of the screws and holes won't quite line up properly. It has to be said, once it's done it's solid and stable, but you'll just have to forget the horrors that lay underneath. And be careful not to scratch the metal as you do it, or you'll need a small tin of touch-up paint. Best assembled upside down on a carpet.

Poor quality. Near impossible to assemble
Very poor quality control. Recieved item with multiple dents and scratches in both metal legs and wooden top.
It is also near impossible to assemble as the bolts have been painted black and so are too big for the holes. Screwing them in with the supplied allen key is very tough and extremely painful.
Once assembled it is not bad (if it wasn't for the scratches etc...)
I can't believe JL sell items this badly designed and of this poor quality. I wish I had looked at the online reviews before buying (in store).

Good desk shame about the assembly
Desk is excellent but the air was blue while my husband put it together, holes are not lined up properly and the frame is askew to the desk... Glad I didn't have to do it!

Ok but poor quality control
Good size and practical design BUT the bolt holes were drilled too small for the bolts provided and therefore was hard to put together. Also the pre-drilled holes in the desktop to screw into to fix the desk to the frame were not aligned. Poor final quality control spoils what should be a no-brainer good product.

Excellent; Easy to build, looks good and very sturdy.

Assembly problems but sturdy multi purpose tables
Bought 3 of these and the frames can be misaligned to the wooden tops and need to be forcibly adjusted to fit the table top correctly before bolting. On one table the bolt holes were to small for the bolts. However, the design is sturdy so missing the bolts does not cause any stability problems but it is an annoyance. Otherwise they are solid, well stabilised and will take weight. Despite the minor problems we are happy to order an additional table.
