The light looks lovely, especially with a large soft light bulb. But the ceiling fitting is awful. We can't get it to sit properly so there's a gap of about 1cm between the cone and the ceiling. There's a tiny white screw to get the cone to attach to the cable which broke after a couple of attempts. Seems like a very cheap finish to the light. Also be careful cleaning the shade as it scratches very easily.

The shade is nice but the ceiling fitting is not easy. In particular, the clamping of the top cone is badly designed and it cannot be made to fit flush with the ceiling, leaving a random gap. Also, I had to shorten the wire as the spare wire was too much to fit inside the cone.

i needed something modern and stylish for my newly decorated and updated living room. I bought two of these lights and they certainly fit the bill.

Let me start off by saying this looks really nice when in place. The dome is plastic (not glass) but you can't tell once it's up, and it does look good. Needs a bit of dusting to keep clean.
The flaw with this product is in the fitting, particularly the plastic cone the other reviewer found fault with. The light attaches to the ceiling with a hook (that you screw into your ceiling), then a bit of plastic, with 3 holes. The idea is you wrap your wire round the lower two holes on the bit of plastic to hold the weight of the lamp, and hook the final hole onto the hook you put in earlier. This is a perfectly good design (plenty of other lights use it) - unfortunatey in this case the length of the plastic thing, plus the length of the hook is greater than the length of the cone - therefore you can never get the cone to the top of the wire, leaving a gap at the top.
You can bypass this (as I have) by wrapping the wire through the top and bottom holes of the plastic, and popping your hook through the middle of the holes - this lessens the length and allows the light to look good - however this isn't in the instructions, so someone may not realise the issue. Really I would expect the installation to have been tested for a light that JL sell.

Bought three of these for hallway and landing and really very pleased with them.
The fitting is simple... two screws hold a plate with a hook onto the ceiling, once wired in, the cable then hooks over this and then a plastic "cone" is pushed up the wire and secured with a "grub" screw. This was the only problem we experienced - and hence only four stars - this grub screw isn't really up to the job. It's made of fairly brittle plastic and the first one split as soon as we tried to tighten it. The others don't quite grip the wire enough to hold the cone right up to the ceiling.
Not the end of the world at all, and it's easily rectified with a bit of thought - but it's a bit of a shame.
We have used dimmable LED bulbs in the lamps and they look great when dimmed - just highlighting the inner white area - and give a really good even light when at full brightness.
Have had lots of complements from visitors and so would recommend.
