House by John Lewis Rimmed Tableware Set, 12 Piece
We ordered two packs of Home tableware using vouchers given to us as a wedding present. We loved the colour and style and, whilst the plates seemed OK, the bowls were very irregular and some weren't even round! Sadly we had to return the packs and we will have to try and find something else.
Another disappointment was that the dinner plates were slightly too big for our standard sized dishwasher.

Disappointed with the quality
I am unfortunately rather disappointed with this tableware set. I ordered 2 boxes and to be honest I would class about 50% of the dinner and side plates as seconds. There are numerous irregularities to the smoothness and finish of the plates. Customer services were very helpful and replaced one set for me but this only led to further dissatisfaction with the product as the angle of the rim on these was flat compared with the others which raised upwards slightly & so therefore the 2 sets do not now stack in the cupboard or dishwasher that well. Overall I expected better quality from John Lewis.

Classic style at a great price
This is a good blend of style, functionality and reasonable price. This tableware is perfect for everyday use as well as for entertaining. The white is very white and shows food off to advantage. I look forward to getting more pieces.

Perfect to complement any kitchen
This set is perfect because it is modern but goes with any kitchen and you can accessorise other pieces fromother ranges to add some colour if needed. Very good value as well.

A sad indictment of Britain..
My old crockery set is 32 years old so I decided to buy some new. This John Lewis set (like everything from John Lewis) is beautiffuly made, stylish, high quality.
The problem is size!! In the 32 years since my last set everything has grown! The new side plates are only just narrower than my old dinner plates, the new dinner plates are big! The cereal bowls are no less than twice the size of the old ones ie they hold about 400 ml instead of 200 ml. OK for a side salad but does anyone actually eat 400ml of cereal or soup? The bowl is under an inch wider but that gives a doubling of volume (varies by the cube of dimensions..). On the principle that if you build a bigger bowl people will stuff their faces from it, crockery makers are contributing to the fattening up of our population. Will cereal bowls be 800ml in another 39 years?
