Product information

Sit back and let the iRobot Roomba 770 vacuum cleaning robot do the hard work!

This machine vacuums on its own using iAdapt™ Responsive Cleaning Technology, and is a multi-floor cleaner, handling carpet, hardwood, tile and linoleum with ease. It cleans on a schedule that is convenient for you, and stays in the rooms you want to clean and out of the ones you don’t. And with a convenient carrying handle, transporting the Roomba between floors is a breeze.

Advanced features include:

  • Dust bin full indicator: helpfully lets you know when the dust bin is full
  • Sensory cleaning for excellent results: the 770 uses optical and acoustic sensors to detect large and small particles. It also employs a brush-like, back and forth motion in areas where it senses excessive dirt to focus cleaning effort
  • Advanced cleaning head: this provides superior performance for picking up dirt, dust, pet hair, allergens and more from carpets and hard floors
  • AeroVac™ Series 2 bin: vigorously pulls debris and hair of brushes into the bin, which holds even more debris than previous machines
  • Dual HEPA filters: these capture dust particles as fine as 0.3 microns, leaving fresher and healthier air behind
  • Soft-touch bumper: the moulded bumper cushions the contact made between the surface of Roomba and walls, furniture and other objects in the room

Q & As

i-Robot Roomba 770 Vacuum Cleaner 4.8 5 24 24
Delighted but not with IRobot Support I have been delighted with this cleaner. So nice to leave it yto get on with the vacuuming while I get on with other things and to clean better than I did. Its gets under Chests of Drawers, sofas etc. However there is no instruction book just a DVD. I would prefer a booklet rather than logging in to my computer. I have just discovered what the box thing with the clear button on the top is, bought a set of batteries but have been unable to open it. Consulted the DVD but this shows a different model so ask IRobot for help. They ask for Serial Number, then having sent this (what on earth do they need with this for such a simple question). Now they want me to send photos of my Lighthouse and where did I buy it separately. I have managed with the help of a strong neighbour to get the top off without further help from IRobot. I do hope that I will not need any more assistance from them. For an item of this cost I would have the service would have been better 28 February 2014
Expensive but worth it. We have had the i-Robot Roomba 770 Vacuum Cleaner for a couple of months now so here is the review. We researched the product and read a number of reviews most seemed positive so after some discussion we decided to get one. We have three boys a dog and cat so the house gets a lot of traffic through it with muddy shoes paws etc. Roomba has surpassed expectations in both my wife and my opinion. We have programmed the cleaner to vacuum daily after everyone has left for work or school and come back to a floor that has been vacuumed. The Roomba then goes back to its docking station to recharge when it is finished. The fact that the machine needs the floor clear to do its job to its optimum means that we have now managed to train our boys to put their shoes, school bags and other junk away with the threat of they will have to use the old hoover if they do not. The only time the old hoover comes out is when we have to do the stairs once a week. Our flooring is mostly wooden downstairs with a couple of rugs which the Roomba has no problems getting on and off to clean. The kitchen and bathrooms are tiled and again it has no problems cleaning these areas. I was sceptical at first about the Roomba cleaning the landing carpet but as it has not thrown itself down the stairs with me supervising it I am confident leaving it to get on with its job. The Roomba seems to work in a haphazard fashion but gets the whole area clean so we are very pleased so much so we are thinking of getting the mopping one later in the year for the tiled areas. The only thing I am unsure about is the handle for the Roomba as it seems a bit flimsy however it has not broken so my doubts are probably unfounded. In short if this broke we would definitely get another.  05 February 2014
Very effective vacuum 'Robert' as our vacuum is called cleans well. We have a white tiled floor and a black Labrador so lots of black hairs. Robert does a first class job. You just leave him to get on with it and the floor is left spotless. He copes well with rugs and carpet as long as the rug tassels are not too long as they can get caught up. Our only criticism is that he can miss the odd bit but to be fair we haven't read the instructions! Also good for bedrooms and cleaning under beds and cupboards. Would definitely recommend. 07 December 2013
So far soo good! Got this today & was so excited to see it in action but the info said to charge it overnight for its first charge...... I couldn't wait that long so thought I'd have a sneaky quick go. I let it do its thing for only 15 mins & although it was quite disorganised in its chosen route, it was extremely effective & sucked up so much dust and cat hair in such a short space of time (& my floors were only cleaned 2 days ago!) I can't wait to let it go properly tomorrow & see the results but I am very confident they will be great. Only neg so far is that my cats were very wary but I think they will get used to it..... They'll have to!! It is expensive but I am sure it will prove to be worth every penny. 11 August 2013
Phenomenal!! Phenomenal, fantastic!... this Roomba is unbelievably good. My carpets look new, it picks everything up even hair that the dyson just rolled over and left behind. I've programmed it to hoover my flat everyday at 11am when I'm at work. I'm beyond excited with this purchase, it's worth every penny... totally recommend it. 26 June 2013
Good but not perfect This hovers really well and I find it work better in the bedrooms as there Less furniture and as someone who hoovered under the beds every week it is a pleasure to see the roomba do a better job than me. The only downside to this roomba is it occasionally seems to hit the furniture hard. I have brought the ultra soft bumpers for it on- line to stop this roomba doing any damage as I think it is a must if you do not want damaged furniture. I feel the roomba manufacturers should have these bumpers fitting as standard then this product would be perfect. I love my roomba as it is brilliant but it is only perfect with the bumpers fitted. 24 May 2013
So glad I finaly got one I'd been looking at automated vacuum cleaners for some time, but for some reason was doubtful that a Roomba would work with Persian type rugs and old wooden floor boards; a possible costly mistake. However, let me put anyone’s mind at rest who has similar worries... Roomba copes amazingly well with Persian rugs - even with tassels and copes well with thick Sisal rugs. It has no trouble with quite uneven stone flooring and gappy old wooden floorboards. We all love this device and wish we'd got one years ago. Can't believe how clean the house is now compared with when we had to drag the vac all over the house. We keep wondering when the thrill will wear off of having the floors vac’d for us while we’re out at work, but after six weeks of owning him it's not waning yet. 3 kids, 2 dogs, a mixed fuel burner and draughty/gap ridden old floors equals a lot of dust and hair. Every day Roomba manages to pretty much fill the dust compartment, so as other reviewers have said it needs to be emptied after each use. This is no real chore though and you get a sense of satisfaction and almost disbelief at the sheer quantity of dust that gets magically vacuumed up every day! This product is great and if you're worrying about the cost, don't, really don't. We only wish we’d gone for the five years extended warranty to protect what is quite an investment. 15 April 2013
R2 to the rescue I hate hovering. I mean I really, really hate it. Having this little guy parked in an out of the way corner of the downstairs where it can charge up and then pop out and hover for me when I am out at work is great. I come home and empty his rubbish bin and put him back into his nest ... sorry charging station. I was a little unsure before I bought as to how good a job he would do but so far....it has only been a few weeks...I've been very pleased. 05 April 2013
