i-Robot Roomba 770 Vacuum Cleaner
Very effective vacuum
'Robert' as our vacuum is called cleans well. We have a white tiled floor and a black Labrador so lots of black hairs. Robert does a first class job. You just leave him to get on with it and the floor is left spotless. He copes well with rugs and carpet as long as the rug tassels are not too long as they can get caught up. Our only criticism is that he can miss the odd bit but to be fair we haven't read the instructions!
Also good for bedrooms and cleaning under beds and cupboards.
Would definitely recommend.

So far soo good!
Got this today & was so excited to see it in action but the info said to charge it overnight for its first charge...... I couldn't wait that long so thought I'd have a sneaky quick go. I let it do its thing for only 15 mins & although it was quite disorganised in its chosen route, it was extremely effective & sucked up so much dust and cat hair in such a short space of time (& my floors were only cleaned 2 days ago!)
I can't wait to let it go properly tomorrow & see the results but I am very confident they will be great.
Only neg so far is that my cats were very wary but I think they will get used to it..... They'll have to!!
It is expensive but I am sure it will prove to be worth every penny.

Phenomenal, fantastic!... this Roomba is unbelievably good. My carpets look new, it picks everything up even hair that the dyson just rolled over and left behind. I've programmed it to hoover my flat everyday at 11am when I'm at work. I'm beyond excited with this purchase, it's worth every penny... totally recommend it.

Good but not perfect
This hovers really well and I find it work better in the bedrooms as there Less furniture and as someone who hoovered under the beds every week it is a pleasure to see the roomba do a better job than me. The only downside to this roomba is it occasionally seems to hit the furniture hard. I have brought the ultra soft bumpers for it on- line to stop this roomba doing any damage as I think it is a must if you do not want damaged furniture. I feel the roomba manufacturers should have these bumpers fitting as standard then this product would be perfect. I love my roomba as it is brilliant but it is only perfect with the bumpers fitted.

So glad I finaly got one
I'd been looking at automated vacuum cleaners for some time, but for some reason was doubtful that a Roomba would work with Persian type rugs and old wooden floor boards; a possible costly mistake. However, let me put anyone’s mind at rest who has similar worries... Roomba copes amazingly well with Persian rugs - even with tassels and copes well with thick Sisal rugs. It has no trouble with quite uneven stone flooring and gappy old wooden floorboards.
We all love this device and wish we'd got one years ago. Can't believe how clean the house is now compared with when we had to drag the vac all over the house. We keep wondering when the thrill will wear off of having the floors vac’d for us while we’re out at work, but after six weeks of owning him it's not waning yet. 3 kids, 2 dogs, a mixed fuel burner and draughty/gap ridden old floors equals a lot of dust and hair. Every day Roomba manages to pretty much fill the dust compartment, so as other reviewers have said it needs to be emptied after each use. This is no real chore though and you get a sense of satisfaction and almost disbelief at the sheer quantity of dust that gets magically vacuumed up every day!
This product is great and if you're worrying about the cost, don't, really don't. We only wish we’d gone for the five years extended warranty to protect what is quite an investment.

R2 to the rescue
I hate hovering. I mean I really, really hate it. Having this little guy parked in an out of the way corner of the downstairs where it can charge up and then pop out and hover for me when I am out at work is great. I come home and empty his rubbish bin and put him back into his nest ... sorry charging station.
I was a little unsure before I bought as to how good a job he would do but so far....it has only been a few weeks...I've been very pleased.

I have owned three roombas over the years. They have all done a great job, but similarly they have all broken within a couple of years. The cost of having them repaired by a specialist repair company when they are out of guarantee is very high, and you only get a three month guarantee on the repair. When my latest roomba broke (not bought from John Lewis) I was worried about paying a lot of money for another product that might not last long. However, when I saw that John Lewis was offering the chance to buy a five year guarantee, I jumped at the chance.
Roombas are wonderful - you just check that there isn't anything on your floor that would get tangled up in roomba's rotating parts (bits of cotton etc) and then start it working. When it's finished it returns to its base to recharge its battery. Its battery is so powerful that you can leave the doors between several rooms open and it will clean them all.
You have to empty its dust compartment after each clean, but it isn't very time consuming and you save the expense of buying dust bags. You also need to remove and clean the rotating parts, but it is quick and easy.
I'm very pleased with this product as it literally saves me hours of housework (since I have a springer spaniel!) and since I work from home, time is money!

Worth every penny!
I deliberated over buying this due to the cost, but I am SO delighted with this. Every little helps as I live alone and have to do all the chores! I set this to vac the living room, whilst I went out to clean the car. I returned home to a very tidy carpet and the Roomba had made its way back to the charger. Genius!!
The bin does require regular emptying but frequency is dependent on size of rooms, I guess. The little brushes underneath do capture dust from the skirting with no bumps to my paintwork. I am very pleased I made the purchase and have no regrets. If you live solo, this is your new best friend!
