i-Robot Scooba 230 Floor Washer

Product information

The iRobot Scooba® 230 Floor Washing Robot packs extensive robotic and cleaning technology into a sleek, compact package to quickly and easily wash the floors in your kitchen, bathroom and other high-traffic areas.

Using only fresh solution from start to finish, Scooba neutralizes up to 97% of common household bacteria from sealed hardwood, tile and linoleum floors. Using a rigorous 3 stage cleaning system Scooba 230 washes, scrubs, and then squeegee-vacuums for squeaky-clean results. Unlike a mop and bucket, the Scooba only uses clean water or solution to wash your floors.

The Scooba cleverly avoids stairs and other drop off points around your home and stays in the room you want it to clean and out of the ones you don’t.

A Little Help from a Little Friend This is our second robot, and we find it to be much more quiet, than our Roomba vacuum. It is also much smaller, and looks like a toy in comparison. Sadly the smaller size means smaller battery, with much shorter battery life. It does a very good job on our cork floors, but be aware of the pricey cleaning solution. We feel it was money well spent and would recommend Scooba. 07 May 2014
Very useful, saves me a lot of time I bought this because I was fed up with cleaning my kitchen floor with a mop. It does save me time and my floor gets cleaned more frequently as it is eay to use. Occasionally it stops and says there is a problem. I think my floor is a little uneven in places and the machine does not like that. I just pick it up and start it again. 09 April 2014
So far so good I bought this on the back of a recommendation for the Roomba version of this product, so this purchase was a bit of a risk for me. I've only used it a couple of times on my tiled floors (kitchen, utility room & bathrooms all with different types of tiling) and the end results have been very good. The cleaned tiles are left with a lovely sheen. Once I've vacuumed the floor, I set up the Scooba, shut the doors and go and do something else. When it's finished the Scooba sits in the middle of the room waiting to be picked up. It seems to cope well going along the skirting boards and around the toilets, basins etc. but it can't get into the corners of the rooms well, which is not noticeable unless you look closely! I can only recommend this product based on a few uses so I don't know how robust the robot & brushes will be. Also I don't know how effective it will be on very greasy or dirty floors. All in all I'm very happy with my purchase and wish that I'd bought the Roomba a year ago instead of my Miele when I had the opportunity! 01 June 2013
Good replacement from a mop and bucket As I mostly have laminate and lino floors, this was an absolute lifesaver. I no longer have to trundle from room to room with a mop and bucket full of hot water and slog the afternoon away when I could be doing many more interesting things. The method of operation is simple; just fill up with warm water, add a cap full of the detergent, set it down and press the 'clean' button. You do have to make sure that you clear things from its path and do a thorough sweep of the floor as dust does seems to be a problem (clumps of wet grit in some places) and the detergent isn't cheap (bought online at around 10 pounds a bottle but you only use a cap full per use; around 63 uses as stated on the bottle). Also you have to recharge between rooms; 45 min to clean per room followed by an 8 hour charge. Despite this I still stand by my purchase as it frees up so much time for other things. And I can let it do the living room in the morning and the kitchen in the evening with no real dramas in between. 05 May 2013
