As the wind picks up and the temperature drops you’ll find your skin will need extra TLC. Dashing from the cold outdoors into an air conditioned office or centrally heated home will challenge all skin types. Continuing the same skincare routine you used in the summer is only asking for trouble; now’s the time to treat yourself to a rich moisturiser and gentle lotions.

Here I’ve compiled my top tips for combating the most common winter beauty ailments and restoring some equilibrium and happiness. So why not take some well-deserved time out
for yourself?

Dry, congested skin in need of a boost?

When you’re using the same products day in and day out without seeing any improvement, then it’s time to try something new. The Age Defying Dermabrasion cream from Darphin is ideal for removing dead and rough skin cells whilst improving the texture and appearance of your complexion. The exfoliating pearl particles will also tone and boost congested areas around the face and neck.

So when you’ve battled the harsh winds and the unsympathetic rain, and your skin is crying out for some much needed indulgence, Trilogy’s Certified Organic Rosehip Oil will work a treat on dry skin to restore balance and moisture levels. It comes in a lightweight, non-greasy formula with nutrient enriched Omega oils to keep your
skin nourished.

Spending a bit more time and attention on your skin will always reap benefits. Try a soothing Estelle & Thild detox mask as it’s certified organic and made with a natural bentonite clay to draw out impurities while unclogging your pores to leave your skin fresh and clean. And for your body give Dead Sea Spa Magik’s Salt Brushing Exfoliating Scrub a go; it’s packed full of nutrient minerals that will soothe your skin and get it in tip top condition. Finish off with an uplifting scented body cream: Origin’s Ginger Soufflé is perfect for energising even the most languid and lethargic
of us.

Okay, it doesn’t actually fit under the subject of ‘winter skin’ but your hair can suffer just as much as your skin when subjected to harsh weather.

When out and about, try to protect your hair by wearing a soft, cosy hat. As for beauty treatments, I’d recommend you use a deep conditioning hair mask once a week. Philip Kingsley’s Elasticizer is suitable for all hair types and will add a healthy, weightless bounce to your hair.

So, make the most of the cold evenings by spending some time indoors and pamper yourself. By
adding a few extra steps to your beauty regime, your skin will stay smooth, soft and protected from
the elements.
