Design a unique rug
Have you ever tried and failed to find a rug that matches your colour scheme? Do you yearn to have something that no one else has which can be a talking point? If so help is at hand in the form of the Colourbox service, which allows you to transform best-selling rug designs into your own colours.
What is Colourbox?
Colourbox is a service offering hand tufted wool rugs in whatever colour combination you like, using best selling designs from our leading supplier.
How does it work?
If you visit one of our shops the sales assistant will guide you through the system on their computer. You’ll be able to select a design, from a considerable range, and colour it to your very own specification at the touch of a button.
Easy steps
Once you’ve found the right colour combination, your design and details will be emailed to the supplier, and they’ll then contact you with a letter of reference, artwork and colour tufts. Only when you’re happy with the colour do you need to proceed.
You then need to advise the shop which helped you find your design, and they’ll then place the order. Your unique piece will be with you in around 8 weeks – it’s a handmade product, so we’re sure you’ll think it’s worth the wait and the cost.
How much?
A piece 183 x 122cm would be £390. By buying such a rug, you’ll be providing valuable employment for workers in one of the poorest states in India.
The maker works exclusively for John Lewis in the rug weaving area just outside Varanasi, and is a member of the John Lewis Rug supplier group – this group is very active in improving the conditions for workers. All rugs are made inside a compound to ensure the integrity of the product, so you can be guaranteed a unique item.
