Before you buy curtains though, you'll need to know the exact size of the window and track or pole you want them to cover, to ensure that you get the best possible fit and fullness - that way they'll not only look good, but be more effective in keeping out unwanted light and draughts. It's also worth thinking about which room you're putting your curtains in; if it's a bedroom, for example, you might like to opt for a blackout lining.
