Wallpaper is seriously back in fashion, but I meet a lot of people who end up slapping paint on instead because they're nervous about hanging it themselves and don't want to run to the expense of a decorator. I hope this video will help to encourage you to give it a go - it really is straightforward, but you just need to be properly prepared.

• sturdy pasting or trestle table
• wallpaper paste brush
• decorator's smoothing brush
• wallpaper edge roller
• plumbline or 2m spirit level
• paperhanger's scissors
• bucket and sponge
• pencil
• steel tape measure
• Stanley knife
