How John Lewis Wedding Insurance can help make sure your wedding day goes to plan
The moment when you get down on one knee or say 'yes' to a marriage proposal is one to treasure forever. But once the planning starts, there can be a lot to think about to turn your wedding dreams into reality.
That’s why it’s important to make sure that you protect all the time, effort and money that go in to your special day. And that’s where wedding insurance comes in.
What is wedding insurance?
A good wedding insurance policy will protect all the essential elements of your wedding. This can include cover for illness and the wedding dress, as well as protection for any of your pre-booked services like the venue, photographer or transport.
It’s a good idea to take wedding insurance out as soon as you’ve paid for any part of the event, so that your deposits are covered.
How do I choose the right cover?
The level of cover you need will depend on the size, type and cost of your wedding and reception. If you consider each separate cost associated with your wedding, this should help you decide the level of cover you need.
John Lewis Wedding Insurance offers six levels of cover starting from just £58*, so whatever the size and budget of your big day it’s easy to find the right protection.
What are the benefits of John Lewis Wedding Insurance?
Cover for cancellation or rearrangement
If you have to cancel or rearrange your wedding, Cancellation Cover pays you any deposits or costs that you can't get back.
Before buying Wedding Insurance, check the upper limits of the Cancellation Cover to make sure it would be enough to give you back all your costs if you did have to make a claim.
Cover for failure of suppliers
Our Wedding Insurance also protects any pre-booked wedding services or suppliers. So if your photographer doesn’t turn up, or your florist goes bankrupt, you’ll be covered. Suppliers can include:
- wedding cake
- hired wedding transport
- ceremonial and bridal attire
- professional wedding photographs and video
Cover for loss or damage
This covers the repair or replacement of things like your wedding attire, wedding flowers and wedding cake if they’re lost or damaged before or during the day.
Optional Marquee Cover
This covers loss or damage to your marquee as well as things inside it like flooring, staging and lighting.
