TwoTog is made exclusively by us here at Herbert Parkinson, John Lewis' very own textiles manufacturing company. Based in a traditional mill in Lancashire, we've been making expert products since 1934. As well as making all the goose down duvets and the majority of the natural pillows in our shops, we supply most of the cushions in-store too.
I'm part of a small team that makes all the duvets. We make the TwoTog duvets using a baffle box construction case (that means the filling doesn't move around) on a machine that's programmed to fill the correct amount of filling into each box and it fills two rows of boxes at a time. When it's filled one half of the duvet it automatically changes the fill amount for the other half to give the different tog rating.
TwoTog is available in John Lewis shops and online in Hungarian goose down - an exceptionally soft and comfortable filling that provides warmth with less weight than duck down. We stock a summer weight (4.5/7 tog) or winter weight (13.5/10.5 tog) version in double, kingsize or super kingsize. Take a closer look at the packaging, and you'll see a photo of me on the side of the duvet box operating the machinery - fame at last!
