Gain advantage in the tennis stakes

At John Lewis, our Tennis Shop contains many of the outfits that were worn at the All England Club this year so take a look and be inspired.

Please note: All rackets are Lite versions of those mentioned.

Roger Federer

Heralded by many as the greatest to have ever taken to Centre Court, Roger Federer, the coolest man in the game, made an uncharacteristic early exit in the first round. He was, however, looking just as impeccable in the Nike Premier RF polo shirt that’s designed with Dri-FIT technology to keep you cool and dry. The shorts are made of a similar material and feature a press stud fastening with a zip fly for added comfort.

Andy Murray

After years of rooting for dear old Tim, Andy Murray finally gave us Brits something to shout about with his appearance in last year's final. This year he went one better and became the first Briton to win the title in 77 years. Sporting the Adidas Barricade range, Murray's choice for the big tournaments this year include the Semi-Fitted tee. Crafted from a stretchy material, its mesh back will keep you comfortable throughout your match. Seeing off his opponents with the Head YouTek Radical racket offers an excellent feel of complete control on your shots and the slightly larger head size makes for a more powerful racket with a generous sweet spot.

Serena Williams

Wimbledon’s five-time singles and five-time doubles champion Serena Williams already had the French Open under her belt this year but didn’t manage to go on to take Wimbledon glory. Serena, a keen follower of fashion, will be wearing the Serena Wimby dress which is as stylish as it is functional. The racket of choice for this year’s tour is the Wilson Blade - which is also the option for British hopeful, Laura Robson.

New balls please

You’ll also be needing some tennis balls, so how about Wilson’s Championship Extra Duty pack.
