Clashing Florals

Dotted Line

Following the success of the first Fashion EDIT blogger event last month, we’ve hosted a second shoot to launch the March Fashion EDIT: Clashing Florals. Four British bloggers were invited to a beautiful East London studio to style 3 looks from the SS14 collection, offering their stylish interpretations on the summery theme. With a glam squad in place and fuelled by champagne and #JohnLewisEDIT marshmallows, the evening proved an inspiring insight into 4 fashionable worlds.

Dawn

Dawn - from dressmeperfect.com had an eclectic style, fusing luxury and high street finds - switching up current and previous season pieces to create a multitude of everyday looks. The former athlete had her hair worn loose, a little dishevelled and teamed with smoky eye make-up for a sophisticated rock chick look. Looking very much at home in the high-octane colour: COLLECTION Sadie Crepe Trousers and fiery print tops, the bold aesthetic matched her vibrant personality.

Alex

For Alex - normally residing in boyfriend jeans, a cashmere jumper and slip-ons, the floral theme was not initially on her personal fashion radar, instead being an eternal advocate of leopard print. After seeing the collection on the rails she instantly embraced the girly theme and became a convert; adopting the print-overload with ease and declared a newfound love of digital print and colour-pop trousers. Alex, who works as a stylist and writes her blog: the-frugality.com, nailed the ladylike theme, opting for a sleek up-do and pretty make-up.

Olivia

Olivia - a true girly girl, loves ornate, whimsical designs and sites Florence Welch as her style icon. Her blog whatoliviadid.com highlights her distinctive vintage aesthetic, which was evident in her outfit selections, opting for Dune brogues and relaxed-fit silhouettes. Blending her signature styles: British heritage, a 70s vibe and quirky accessories, her outfits felt contemporary and unique, yet ultimately wearable. Olivia opted for chic, colour-block accessories and super-cute flower-detail manicure to finish her exquisite outfits.

Megan

Megan - fashion and beauty blogger from wonderful--you.blogspot.co.uk traditionally sports off-duty separates including jersey tops, leggings and ankle boots. Megan had a keen eye for accessories, finishing off her laidback look with a signature wide brim felt hat, tortoise shell glasses and a leather satchel. Complementing her striking auburn hair, she went for subtle eye make-up, emphasising bold brows and a fresh orange/red lip colour. Megan embraced the zesty SS14 colours by choosing a Miss Selfridge Flippy Skort and matching top for head-to-toe citrusy-chic.

Our 4 bloggers edited their looks with confidence, shunning conventional rules dictating colour and print collaborations. Despite the diverse selection of garments, each individual’s flair was captured and the combinations proved totally wearable, chic and beckoned sunshine!
