Q & As

Janome 7025 Sewing Machine 4.9 5 61 61
Great Sewing Machine for a 'rusty' beginner I am very much a beginner having not done any sewing since being at School about 30 years ago. This is a fantastic machine as it is easy to use and straight forward to understand. I watched a YouTube video as to how to thread a bobbin and threading the needle as I found it easy than reading the instructions - I was able to sew straight away. Absolutely delighted and would strongly recommend this machine. I really like the fact it has a needle threader and you can easily access the bobbin and see it clearly. One very happy beginner. 27 January 2015
EXCELLENT PROCUCT Bought this sewing machine for our daughter who is 10 for Christmas, she loves it. Instructions are easy to follow, as is using the machine. As always fanatastic customer service from JL. Would highly recommend. 20 January 2015
Janome 7025 Starting looking for a new machine about October time and then, having read the reviews for all sewing machines sold by John Lewis and others, I became overwhelmed by the choice, and then just before Christmas knuckled down to choosing one and decided to stick with J.L. because of their customer service. Ordered this machine Saturday before Christmas and it turned up at lunch-time the following Tuesday. Machine very easy to set up, and the instructions for use are VERY CLEAR. It has a very useful facility to automatically thread the needle, although I have not tried this, but if your eye-sight is not as it was this could be a real boon. I bought this particular particular model as it has a hard plastic cover but it is not as robust as sewing machine covers from the past. That's not a criticism just the way things are now. If, like me, you can't make up your mind which machine to choose, and are looking for one that does the basics very well, and don't mind paying a bit extra for the hard cover - then I would definitely recommend this machine. Read the other reviews for this Model as they cover various aspects of the different functions the machine performs. I have enjoyed using it so much that I have actually gone round my home looking for things to repair. It is a great machine and I love it! 10 January 2015
Excellent machine, great value for money I love using this sewing machine. I hadn't undertaken dressmaking since school and was a little frightened of sewing machines. Once started with this machine, there is no stopping me. It has given me confidence with its ease of use and professional finishes. Highly recommended. 27 June 2014
Great machine As everyone says, this is a very easy machine to use and lovely and quiet compared to my last machine. I didn't give it 5 stars because as a "left hander" the needle lifter is quite awkwardly placed and I did have some initial problems getting the thread of the bobbin through - instructions could have been a little clearer but overall this is a great machine. 18 June 2014
Searching for a new sewing machine I have been using my old New Home machine purchased for me on my 21st (40 years ago!) and my mother in laws Brother which was about 50 years old. Both perfectly capable of stitching but on my retirement I wanted a new machine as I hope to be sewing more regularly. After reading everything available on the Internet I found that making a decision was becoming more and more difficult. I had seen sewing machines on sale at John Lewis and had even bought one of the smaller machines for my son a couple of years ago. I purchased a kettle from John Lewis some years ago ago which had a fault and it was exchanged immediately and then another item which was damaged after having had it 2 years was sent away for repair and delivered to my home. Having considered all of this I decided customer service was the most important issue - not which machine - so we set off to the new John Lewis at York. I understand New Home became Janome so given the long service of my own machine and the help of the assistant who knowledge was very useful I came away with a Janome 7025. It is wonderful, so quiet and easy to use, I love the needle threader! It also has a hard case. My husband who had declared he was still going to use the old machine, used the new one as it was set up - he is a convert. Now what to do with my old machines........... 11 June 2014
Practically Perfect I haven't really even begun using all the features on this sewing machine but it is amazing! The zip foot just glides through and it is so effortless to sew anything. I love that the base comes off so that you can sew sleeves. I am sure this will last me many years to come. 04 June 2014
Great machine Having had this machine for a few weeks now, I can honestly say that I chose the right model. The various measurements on the machine are extremely useful when doing seams. Very easy to change the different feet. I have tried all the different stitches and the automatic buttonholer with great success. The sound of the machine is one of quality, no rattling, very smooth and quiet. I would recommend this model to all sewers of any ability. 04 June 2014
