John Lewis 3-Ply Nonstick Milkpan, 14cm
Should have read the reviews. Don't rely on the brand name.
Doesnt pour. Which in a milk pan is pretty critical. Bought in store earlier this month and I didnt think I could return as I hadn't kept the packaging. Having read all these reviews (many months old) I can't believe John Lewis sold me this product. Full price too.. I relied on the brand name. Not a happy customer.

Lining peels off
I take care of my product as its non stick, not one scratch inside the saucepan, however this morning when I removed it from the dishwasher the lining has peeled off, exactly what others have stated on here. It's not the best at pouring either the liquid goes every where, especially milk! So no not brilliant and judging by the comments on here the pan needs modifying. I have the whole set of pans and pots, they are excellent and clean up really well.

What a disappointment!
We bought this pan as part of a set of pans - all the others of which we are delighted with - when kitting out our holiday cottage. However, despite not having constant heavy use, we too have found the non-stick lining is now peeling away from the top edge of the pan. Not only is this unsightly but I am fearful we will start ingesting bits of it if we continue to use the pan :-(
It is such a shame we chose this item as we have purchased many products from John Lewis and have always been satisfied with the quality and value of each item.
I understand we can bring the product back and will do so when next in the UK - we live in the IOM - but in the meantime do I chance purchasing a replacement to match the rest of my pans, or do I have to look around for something that doesn't match but won't be such a disappointment? Has this apparent design fault been investigated with and sorted by your suppliers and is it safe to buy a similar replacement?

Not a good milk pan
A beautifully crafted pan which is not good at pouring hot milk or cocoa into mugs. Instead the hot milk/cocoa dribbles down the side of the pan and all over the worktop.
I shall be exchanging it for another pan. (not the same make)

If you want a milk pan, don't whatever you do get this
This thing is absolutely useless, I'm afraid. I've had for about a year now. The non-stick lining is great, makes cleaning it a breeze (I wash up by hand) and I haven't had any problems with it peeling off as reported by others.
However as a milk pan, it fails totally. There is only one spout, so you have to hold the pan in your right hand if you're going to use it. More importantly, it plain doesn't work. Milk just streams down the side of the pan and onto the counter rather than out into the mug. So rather than pouring the milk into my mug of cocoa slowly with my left hand as I stir with my right (surely what a milk pan is designed for), I heat more milk than I need, pour with my right hand as quickly as possible in order to minimise the spillage, then mop up the nevertheless considerable mess from the counter and the bottom and side of the pan. Every time.
Also annoying is that unhygienic gunk accumulates around the uncoated rivets that hold the handle on until the build-up has become large enough to remove with a sponge (which happens after a few months of daily use).
I'm pretty astonished with the poor design of this product given that it's not cheap and it comes from John Lewis, who are usually excellent.

I'm afraid to say I have to add to the chorus of people complaining that the non-stick lining starts to peel away from the rim after a few months. It just sort of detaches itself like wallpaper pulling away from a wall. Since I'm not massively enthusiastic about the prospect of little bits of non-stick coating in my food, I'm afraid I've had to replace it with a different pan. It's a real pity, because this range is, in general, excellent.

The milkpan is a good weight and the handle is easy to use. Have found it a great successor to my old one which was a good age. Good value for money.

Excellent pan - I bought two!
A solid and well made pan with good heat conduction, not just for milk!
