Nice office furniture
Easy to assemble. Very pleased with the finished product - doesn't look self assembled.

Should have been 5 stars
I would have given this 5 starts other than the finish on the top edge is rough. Although Customer Services were very responsive the replacement top was equally as bad. I suspect that this is a general manufacturing fault and have therefore decided to live with it since I'm not going to take another day off work to accept another delivery, especially if the replacement is still not right.
Other than that everything else is excellent and it is also fairly straightforward to assemble. Please note that there is no provision to connect to another item in the range (e.g. a desk).

Nice looking product
The time taken to put it together was much longer than quoted. The oak finish is very nice the item is pleasingly robust. The inside surfaces have a "plastic" veneer not wood like the outside

Contemporary Study Furniture
Easy to put together .Brought with other items in the Abacus range-- and at last a tidy study with a place to put things away. The File drawer was very useful and makes paperwork so easy to find.Also gives a modern contemporary look to the room.

Excellent product and service
Filing chest fulfilled purpose, was delivered as requested and I was able to modify leg height to suit existing furniture. Satisfactory purchase.

John Lewis Abacus 3-Drawer Wide Filing Chest.
It is quite expensive for a piece of flat pack, but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s like some cheaper ranges of flat pack furniture, They has gone the extra mile and added extras like draw braces to stop the bottoms of draws falling out and also some clips to stop the back popping off with use.
Well made solid piece of furniture. Delivered on time and well packaged to avoid damage.
I agree with PenrithRamble though about the draw runners he said (but novices should beware that the drawer runners are left and right handed whereas the instructions imply that all 6 are the same)
If you don’t want the nasty metal filing cabinets but something a little smarter then this is for you, the only drawback I can see for some people may, be that it is not lockable.
One little grumble – nowhere on the webpage does it give any measurement’s for this unit, we guessed that as it was part of a range that they would be the same as the other items, but it took some searching to find them.
