Abacus Filing Cabinet Like the appearance. Much better veneer than the Loft desk which we had also ordered. 17 April 2013

Be aware this is not all wood The product info says this is a "solid oak and veneer filing cabinet". However the drawer box is foil-coated. Furthermore it is not oak foil but a different colour, probably beech. Disappointing as the drawer base IS oak foil. This is easy to assemble but there is one extra instruction which will help enormously when you make this up: make sure the camlocks are inserted in their holes with the arrow pointing to the edge of the wood - then the connecting bolts will go in easily. Unlike a regular metal cabinet you cannot fully open the drawers and there is no lock. 22 March 2013

Great product I'm very happy with this purchase; once assembled it looks like the picture. The assembly instructions were clear and quite easy to understand even for an inexperienced "mature" lady. The directions did indicate a two person job and I did have help from a son-in-law. All components were very well packed and protected against any possible damage prior to delivery and I found a small selection of spare screws etc which were not needed. 22 October 2012

Excellent storage This lives up to John Lewis' reputation for well made furniture. It is sturdy, attractive and was very simple to assemble. Everything fitted together easily and all parts were included. 27 July 2012

The creme de la creme of self assembly We are extremely pleased with this cabinet. Good quality and looks very attractive in any setting, not just as office furniture. What a nice change when doing self assembly to have all pieces fitting together easily and being the right size. We chose the narrow cabinet as we only had a small space and it fitted it exactly. A very good purchase indeed. If there is any negative comment, a very minor irritation was that it would have been helpful if, as well as providing an allen key, there had been a screwdriver included as you need a Pozidrive type rather than a flathead or Phillips one. 12 May 2012

Narrow Filing Cabinet Having assembled many items of flat pack furniture over the years this had significantly superior fit and finish. Carcase and draw units were accurately machined with all jointing systems aligning perfectly resulting in excellent rigidity and a stable unit with well aligned and smooth operating draws. The oak veener was of good quality wood and well applied enhancing the overall quality. Instructions were well written and easy to follow. I am very pleased with this unit which hs proven a very usefull addition to my office 21 March 2012
