John Lewis Amy Ceiling Light, 5 Arm
We are really pleased with this ceiling light. It looks lovely in our conservatory. Bit tricky to assemble but worth the effort! Would recommend it

Beautiful, but very difficult to fit.
This fitting looks lovely and gives great illumination, although possibly a bit too bright for most. In our bedroom we will definitely need to fit a dimmer in order to be able to actually look at the light fitting and appreciate it without getting white spots on our retinas. Only real problem with it was the fitting. We cannot get it flush to the ceiling (see a previous review) and it is very fiddly to get it wired. One of our bulbs also blew as soon as it was turned on (echoing another reviewer), so possibly not quite the quality of product you would normally expect from John Lewis.

lovely once up
looks beautiful but was a bit tricky to install, especially if you don't have small fingers
We also had to change all the bulbs provided as they were far too strong.

nice light but watch out if you have 2 way switches
The light is very attractive and we are happy with it. One problem I had fitting it was that there is very little room for the wiring in the mount. We have 2 light switches which increases the number of wires to connect. I would have been very helpful if the product description had stated whether the light was suitable for use with 2 way switches.

Finishes off my extension nicely
I have had an orangery built onto the dining room and wanted to change the dining room centre light to match the newly decorated area. This light does the job perfectly. Looks good but is not too obtrusive. Very bright light should it be needed. Would be nice if there were wall lights to match!!

Difficult to fit.
This is avery pretty fitting that gives good illumination, but very difficult to fit due to poor design. There is not a ceiling back plate but a bar with cranked ends to which the fitting is attached with grub screws. You may find that the ceiling bar need to be packed out with washers so that it stands slightly proud of the ceiling in order to offer up the fitting and be able to engage the grub screws. The cranked ends of the bar really need to be a couple of millimetres longer. Also, the wiring loom inside the head of the fitting is an extremely tight fit for the space.

Buy spare bulbs when you purchase this!
This product is perfectly suitable for the spare bedroom for which it was intended and creates the look we hoped for. We would have given it a 5-star review but for the poor quality of the bulbs supplied - in fact I was tempted to award 2 stars, but felt that would be harsh. Two of the 5 bulbs were unsuitable for use (damaged contacts) from the off and a third had failed by the morning after installation, after probably less than 5 minutes in use. Suggest you make sure you have spares to avoid disappointment.
