Lovely piece of kit.... This was my first foray into digital radios and I chose this because of the more modern look; didn't want one of the retro ones. Easy to set up, you can scroll through stations manually or preset them. Took a few mins to work out how to save the presets, you have to hold the preset button , wait for the number to flash, then press enter. The sound quality is excellent - I have it situated in our fairly large kitchen - and I have been able to do away with my old ipod speakers as it doubles up. If you have an ipod shuffle as I do, you can use a double-ended 3.5mm cable to play through the auxiliary socket round the back. Cosmetic note: only the front of the radio is black, the surrounding sides are white, if you are bothered about stuff matching which I am not. In summary, a good-looking, excellent value digital radio. Also excellent service as ordered online and collected from my local Waitrose within 48 hours. 24 March 2013

kitchen heaven what a brilliant piece of kit, i plugged it in the kitchen, turned it on and it set its self up. docked the i pod and away it went, my husband is happy because im in the kitchen and he can now watch the tv in peace. well done john lewis. 06 February 2013

Eats batteries! Great sound and easy to use but oh dear does it use batteries! I had an application where I could only use it on batteries because of no mains electric. It used 16 batteries in less than 4 days at only 10 minute slots of use. One set of batteries flattened within seconds. Pity, it was ideal, but could not keep up or afford that kind of use. 10 December 2012

My first John Lewis purchase. I am delighted with this DAB/ipod dock. It does what I wanted and has more features than I expected. The quality is better than the price suggests and the price is extremely attractive. My first Jonh Lewis purchase and, probably, not my last. 09 December 2012

Excellent service and product. As, usual, it was a pleasure to shop in John lewis store in Swindon. The presence of this store here has made such a difference to the ambience of the area. Staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and everything went smoothly. Good compact radio I had spent ages looking for a DAB radio with iPod dock that was not a clock radio as a gift for someone who wanted to use it in a kitchen so it needed to be compact. This product fits the bill and has very good sound on all functions. The only slight quibble is that it is very tricky to use the radio pre set buttons. I had to call the helpline to try and sort it out - you just need to be very quick when pressing them but the instruction booklet does not tell you this. 22 October 2012
