Q & As

John Lewis Botanist Glass Storage Jars 2.7 5 7 7
Thin as paper! Pleased to receive these as a wedding gift as the design is lovely. However when received you can feel the glass is thin as paper and one predictably broke at the corner within 2 weeks when I simply screwed the lid on! Trying to return all of them if I can because once you put any weight inside they are an accident waiting to happen. Very surprised at JL for the terrible quality. 17 August 2014
Very poor product from John Lewis I am very disappointed by this product. Although it looks great the product is flawed in less than a few weeks of purchase a crack has developed at the bottom of the jar spilling sugar and glass everywhere. This product is either faulty or something is up with the design. Either way not happy at all with this jar. 07 April 2014
Pleasing to look at but too narrow Lovely glass tea canister. Only trouble is you can't get your hand inside to get a tea bag from the bottom. A bit of a design flaw. 29 August 2013
wonderfully chic and wonderfully priced I bought the set of three storage jars purely as I liked the style and I was delighted with them when they arrived. They look lovely on my worktop and do the job - yes they are a bit narrow on the top so you cant put your hand all the way in but a little tip of the jar and you can get the last dregs of coffee and sugar out. Also great as you can see when your running low (and to run out of sugar and tea in my house is a total disaster as I basically run on sweet tea) . Happy with my choice and think they have just the right retro look which you normally pay a lot more for - now just to get on to decorate the rest of my kitchen accordingly - best put the kettle on....... 04 December 2012
Lovely looking but fragile! Bought a set of 3 storage jars from this range. Within a month 2 of them had broken - the front corners seem very fragile and the slightest knock on the worksurface caused them to smash, Very disappointed as they look lovely. 12 November 2012
Looking good in the kitchen. Very pleased wiyh these jars. looking great in our kitchen. high quality at a reasonable price. 26 September 2012
Would go nicely in any kitchen setting I ordered one of these from the website. The jar is nicely designed, and would fit well in any kitchen setting. I think the metal lid may be prone to fingerprints, so will need regular monitoring. Hubby's only grumble was that the neck of the jar is not wide enough for his hand to fit in with a spoon, meaning he can't get the dregs of the sugar out from the bottom. I would personally get round this problem by tipping the jar upside down. All in all, I am pleased I bought it 12 September 2012
