John Lewis Canvas Wardrobe, Cream
I needed 2 wardrobes whilst living temporarily away from home - these are great as the hanging space and drawers provide a lot of storage space.
I checked out a number of similar products from other companies but negative reviews on construction and fragility put me off.
The JL product was easy to assemble and feels sturdy given it's light weight frame.

I first purchased one of these in 2010 as a temporary wardrobe whilst waiting for fitted ones to be built and installed. I subsequently lent it out and having recently moved again and requiring a wardrobe for my teenage son I didn't hesitate to buy another one, It's got loads of hanging room and the 4 storage drawers are great for all his sports gear. The added shoe storage on the side is ideal for all those shoes too...Would definitely purchase another if and when I'd have to in the future.

High quality and good value
This is a solid, well designed wardrobe and I don't regret spending what seemed a fairly high price initially. I've filled up the hanging space, keeping the lighter items towards the centre to avoid the bar sagging (there are limits to a fold-up wardrobe). It keeps its shape and I have no issues with having it as a fairly long term solution in my bedroom. I had to get a replacement because the canvas cover had come apart at a seam at the back so it's worth checking that as there is a lot of stitching. JL replaced it immediately and without question of course, usual good service, and arranged pick up and delivery as I'd moved away from the town where I bought it click and collect. The only design features I would criticise would be a slightly stronger hanging bar because I would like to feel confident to hang heavy jackets rather than just shirts in the middle. I don't know why the metal rods that string the frame together and support the drawers aren't evenly spaced across the width of the drawers as the design means the drawers are slightly less supported at the outsides. It's not a big deal but would give you more confidence to put heavy things like sheets and towels in the drawers. In conclusion, if you want a decent pack up wardrobe this is well recommended.

Simple to construct
I had ordersed another self assembly wardrobe from another supplier which involved many pieces of wood and even more screws - it went back. This wardrobe is simple to construct. Even I did it in about 30 minutes. And it gives valuable extra storage space.

Adequate short term storage
This wardrobe has the advantage of looking neat and tidy. The drawers at the bottom are useful and the zips keep the clothing inside dust free. However we have taken the decision to store lightweight clothing only on the internal rail as it does not feel that solid and has a tendency to lean forward. As a result it does feel expensive for what it is.

Good quality product
This product really fits the bill. We have bought a property in France and needed some temporary clothes storage. It was easy to assemble and we can keep clothes dust free. Absolutely delighted with it.
