John Lewis Chrome X-Wing Airer
We purchased this article on Wednesday and at the first use found all the problems high lighted in other reviews. The locks on the A stand are not made to with stand any reasonable load of washing. I doubt that it would take the 15KG maximum advised. For the cost and etc I expected something better. It will be going back to John Lewis as soon as I can arrange it. All rather a bind.

an expensive product which is completely unstable, put a duvet cover on it and the whole unit folds in on itself . Takes up a lot of space . Cannot recommend it .

This product looked good on the internet. but very disappointing in reality. Too light weight for anything heavier than a t shirt or sock. It was rusty at the bottom when I got it out of its packaging.
However when I took it back John Lewis was it usual helpfullness and no problem taking it back.
Bought another type of drier better suited for family washing.

I bought one of these chrome airers, from John Lewis about 5 years ago and it has served me well. Recently one of the struts broke and I bought a replacement (the above). However the design has been changed such that the supporting arms are much longer than its predecessor with the result that when the airer is full of washing any attempt to move it collapses it. It is not as easy to use as the previous version.

Absolutely awful product. The only time I've regretted buying anything from John Lewis. Too lightweight to deal with an average amount of laundry, leaves very deep grooves in your clothes because of the thin rack wires, collapses at the drop of a hat. The locking spindles at the side are not cut out for the job. They lost their grip in no time so it falls down. And good luck trying to move it. Again, collapses. I've used it for 12 months and hated every minute of it. It's now on its way to the tip.

Disappointing product especially as a John Lewis own brand. Just hopeless and frustrating as slightest movement makes whole thing collapse, which is very annoying when full of wet clothes. I am taking this straight back.

Frustrating and awful
Undoubtedly the worst domestic product I have ever bought. Prone to collapse and dismantle itself at the slightest provocation, it is unusable even in the calmest weather outside and barely better inside.

This is a great airer. It fits a great deal of clothes on - nearly two loads - and iy is great to hang hangers from, too.
It can be a little frustrating at times if you want to move it once it is up and laiden with clothes, but then again I tend to make sure it is out of the way when I put it up
