The best steamer for your Xmas pud I make between 10 and 15 Xmas puddings for family and friends every year and I can't live without this steamer. It is a great size (holds a 2 pint pudding basin perfectly# and fits over a wide range of saucepans. I have to keep buying new ones as I do occasionally let a pudding boil dry #oh the misery of all that time and dried fruit going to waste!) and I always look for better/cheaper alternatives and have never found one. This is a kitchen classic! 11 October 2012

Good steamer I like this steamer, the only small issue is that it sits a little low in bigger pans but otherwise it's a good item. 30 June 2012

Must have bit of kit The steamer fits neatly and snugly on all the John Lewis pans in the set, except for the milk pan. It doesn't leak steam everywhere and has a deep inset to hold enough vegetables to satisfy my family. Well made and robust. 09 April 2012

Most useful item This steamer is wonderful, it fits on most saucepans and is so easy to use. Vegetables take a few minutes to cook and emerge perfectly retaining all their colour if they are fresh. 21 December 2011

Wouldn't be without it I have an older model than this one, but very similar. Because of the stepped in base will fit on most sizes and makes of pans. can be used as a strainer / colander as well. I steam carrots, broccoli and caulifower in it all the time, also good for sprouts, courgettes, peas, beans etc. Usually I cook the potatoes in the pan underneath, and steam the rest of my veg in the steamer. Very Eco friendly as I use one ring instead of 2 or 3. Just watch that all the holes do not get covered with veg, when cooking large quantities. Highly recommended and well worth the money, mine's 12 years old and still in great condition. 19 December 2011
