John Lewis Cotswold Butcher's Trolley, Cream
Lovely Butcher Block
This is a very sturdy bit of furniture and it is a lovely shade of mid to light cream( if you think Laura Ashley cream you are on the right track) the shelving is very nicely spaced allowing plenty of space for larger items to be stored on them, I measured the shelves and the height from the inside of the bottom of the drawer to the slats on the shelf in the middle of the unit is about 24cm and from top inside slats to slats on bottom shelf is about 36cm, so 2 good sized shelves. As I mentioned before it is very sturdy and I think it will give plenty of service over the future years. My husband made it up for me and he said a ball hexagon allen key would have made assembling easier rather than the standard hexagon allen key that is supplied but that would add to cost as they are slightly dearer. The reason I gave only 4 stars was that one of the leg sides was split but I could not be bothered with the faff of changing it, the wheel locks are a tad on the flimsy side but are fine for what they are needed for a page was missing from the instructions which if you had no internet to look at the online PDF sheet would be a pain to get hold of. I am very happy with my purchase it is really lovely and looks much more expensive than it was and a very good buy. Love it

Great for the money
Excellent delivery service as always from JL. Product was easy enough to assemble, good value, drawer slightly flimsy, perhaps suited for occasional use. Shelves are sturdy, I have cast iron pans placed on them. Personal preference didn't bother with the wheels as not going to move the unit and preferred the height slightly lower. Loved the colour, a nice heritage cream.

Perfect and great value for money
I am annoying my husband by banging on about how much I love this (every time I go into the kitchen). It happens to match our units perfectly and has given us more work top space, an extra drawer and two extra shelves. When it arrived one of the shelves was slightly damaged but JL has now replaced this very efficiently. You can't do better for the money and it looks great.

Overall so far we are very pleased with our trolley, it seems
sufficiently robust looks good and gives us extremely useful
extra space in our small galley kitchen. It fits in and it’s neutral
colour suits well too.
However, despite having carefully positioned all screw
studs to the correct depth one of the cams steadfastly refused
to draw up tight no matter how carefully I tried. It eventually
twisted, although I was able to straighten it. It’s still a little
loose but it doesn’t really affect stability. Also I couldn’t initially
fit the worktop until I found one corner hole not completely
drilled out preventing the screw stud from entering. After
running a drill through all was ok. For someone proficient at
assembling flatpack items I guess 40 mins projected assembly time
is probably ok but for many of us mortals perhaps it may be a bit optimistic.
We opted for click and collect which I would not now recommend for
an item like this. Delivery to my local store was spot on but it was heavy
for shop staff (Waitrose) and me to handle. Much better to go for home
delivery where the carmen are experienced and have the gear to handle
items of this weight.
So - would recommend but four stars only because of the less than perfect

Fitting this together took me exactly two hours. The instructions suggest two people are necessary, but I managed it on my own. (female aged 68). It's heavy, but then it wouldn't be much good if it was light and flimsy. Instructions weren't too bad at all, I've never thought exploded drawings made much sense, you have to use common sense as well. I'm very pleased with the result, and would recommend highly.

I'm so pleased with my Butcher's trolley, it's given me more work space in the kitchen and the shelves are very useful to store my Kenwood chef and all the attachments.

Excellent value, but careful with assembley
This is a very good product, but I would echo the comment of the previous reviewer about not driving in the bolts too far. It's not clear from the instructions how far the bolts should enter the pre-drilled holes, and I sheared off the head of the first bolt. This drew the assembly to a halt very early in the procedure, as no spares are provided and neither are spares readily available. Fortunately, Cambridge Kitchenware Department came to the rescue, and once I knew how far in the bolts should go, assembly was easy. If the instructions were to include a warning about the bolt depth, and the package to include a spare bolt, it would be a five-star product. It is certainly excellent value at the price.

Was concerned about putting this together but was not too bad. One tip! Don't drive the screws in too tight because the cams won't fit and break if the screws are driven too far in. Once put together it is surprisingly sturdy and looks far more expensive than it cost. My reason for purchase was to put my new Kitchenaid Artisan stand food mixer on and it's so sturdy that it does not move or shake when the mixer is in use. Very pleased with this and highly recommend it.
