John Lewis Domino 4-6 Seater Extending Dining Table
Really lovely design
The modern design is stylish and not bulky like a lot of tables. The quality is very good for the price, it is not overly obvious that it can be extended when the table is closed.

Nice for a "veneer" look
The table looks nice enough from far away, but up close you can definitely tell it's a wood veneer and looks nothing like an oak table. I also have no idea how hard-wearing the veneer is, so I'm a bit afraid to let the kids be rough with it. With a solid oak tabletop, little natural nicks or dents actually look okay. But with a veneer they just look cheap.
Also, around the edges of the table top there is a ridge that is a natural dirt and crumb catcher -- this is really annoying and I guess I'd have to get a blade of some kind to try to clean it out.
So overall it's fine, but if I had to buy again I'd probably go for a solid oak tabletop both for the look, durability, and function (a solid piece versus all these pieces patched together with a ridge along the top).

Compact and stylish...with curves!
This table is much better in real life than as pictured both on the website and in the spring/summer catalogue. In fact had I not seen it in real life I would have dismissed it. I have been looking for a small, round table that was compact but extendable. I saw this in my JL local store and it caught my eye. Although it's not round it has a lovely curved edge, so no nasty accidents bumping into sharp corners. It's very neat and compact but can extend to seat 6. I particularly liked the legs on the table, they look stylish and are right at the edge of the table so don't get in the way, this is very useful when the table extends as you get maximum space. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and would recommend.
