John Lewis Duck Down and Feather Mattress Toppers
I must say I love John Lewis and most of their own products are great. I always shop there and will continue to do so but unfortunately this product was a very disappointing one for us. It just did not do what it was suppose to do- which is provide comfort for us.
We have recently purchased a Silent Nigh medium firm mattress and wanted to make it slightly softer for extra comfort after sleeping in a Marriott Hotel where they used duck down and feather mattress topper we have decided to get this mattress topper for our bed. As I have said before we have a fairly new mattress therefore we were`t hoping for miracles from this topper just some extra cushioning to make it slightly softer. However when putting the king size mattress topper on our king size mattress we realised it was slightly smaller than out mattress so it was at least 5 cm off each side therefore we had to stretch it including the elastic band on the edges to be able to fix it onto the mattress which made it really flat, so when we were in bed we could hardly feel anything. It literally felt like a really thin duvet was underneath us. It was also very loud when moving in bed so after two nights of sleep we have decided to take it back. I was expecting John Lewis to not to take it back due to hygienic reasons but we were pleased as the Milton Keynes staff were fantastic and took it back with no issues. Now we have decided to purchase a Mattress topper from the Marriott website which has arrived now and it is so lush. we had one of the best night sleeps ever , but our new topper is much thicker than this one. So i would suggest if you want something for extra cushioning opt for a thicker mattress topper john lewis has another one.

Comfy and snuggly
Used on a decent mattress this gives a lovely sinking feeling and means you're surrounded by down for a warm, comforting feeling.

These toppers are comfortable and good value but in my opinion are too small for the stated mattress size. I gave the first one I bought (a king size ) to my son, it fits his standard double mattress perfectly. I've just bought a super king for our king size spare bed and am pleased with it.

Not right for us
I ordered this on the basis of the excellent reviews this product has received, and was hoping it would ameliorate the firmness of our new mattress. However, it felt just like lying on a duvet, and has not off-set the hardness of the mattress underneath. Whilst I imagine this item is a winner if you already have a soft mattress, or an elderly one with lumps & bumps, it wasn't right for our purposes, and we have instead plumped for the Devon Duvets British Wool Mattress Topper, which does just the job.

Very disappointed -softness didn't last
I bought a duck and down mattress topper as a Christmas present for my son. Given the good reports by other purchasers, it would seem that there is some inconsistency in the density of the filling, because although this felt soft when first lying on it, the hardness of the mattress underneath became apparent within a matter of seconds. He has returned the topper to the store, and will replace it with one he tried elsewhere.

Best thing since sliced bread!
This mattress topper turns an average comfortable bed into a luxury bed.

Comfortable but stitching has come undone after 1 year.
this is a comfy topper overall. Sometimes, the feathers poke through and are prickly.
My only disappointment is that the stitching which divides the squares has come undone and the elastic is showing signs of stress after only 1 year.
I would expect a more robust product given that this topper does need to be shaken and turned regularly to keep it's fluffiness.

I think this is a great product. Really gives an ordinary bed that "luxury hotel" feel.
