The cot itself looks nice and my son sleeps well in it. But the drop side is completely useless, and potentially dangerous now he has started trying to pull himself up. It no longer stays secured in place so one end hangs a bit funny and it pushes down if you put any weight on it. The similar priced JLP cotbed we bought for our eldest is much better as the drop side is only useful for a short time anyway.

very pleased with the cot. the only downside is the drop side is quite clunky and noisy so wakes up the baby - as such its become totally redundant and we shouldn't have bothered with it but still a good cot, regardless.

This is a solid and pretty baby bed, it took one person (female(!!)) about 15 minutes to assemble, it looks good and does not seem to fall apart any time soon.
The drop side is a bit tricky at the moment, but I am sure we will get the hang of it soon.
4 stars only as the delivery was a shambles and I was waiting for a long time with a screaming child in the house until the lovely lady from customer support helped me out.

Excellent value. Side bar was difficult to move up and down but now I have developed the knack of using my knee to push it from the bottom and it works like a dream. Well worth the money.

I debated for ages whether to go for this cot or one twice the price in another store and I'm pleased I bought this one! It doesn't look cheap at all, it's a lovely little cot. Like other reviewers have said the only issue is fitting the drop side - we did end up marking the wood, it seemed unavoidable. I'm hoping I can cover the worst mark with a bit of white paint. I think John Lewis need to look at this aspect as it seems a common problem. Overall though very nice cot for a great price.

This cot looks every bit as nice as those costing hundreds of pounds. It feels solid and secure.
It was quite easy for my husband to assemble - well apart from the drop side, even after reading the helpful tips from other reviews it still wasn't straight forward and we did end up marking the wood a little.
I have still given this cot 5 stars because I don't really notice the marks now we are using the cot and I don't think you could buy a cot of this quality for this price any where else!

We originally bought a cot from another retailer which was described as white, but turned out to be cream. On returning it, we chose to go for this one which was half the price of the one we previously bought. I was concerned that at this price it would be a little "cheap" feeling, but I was wrong. This item could be sold for much more and still be a good value purchase. It isn't the most solid of cots, but it is by no means flimsy and doesn't flex structurally when pushing against it.
Assembly is straight forward and I had no issues with the drop side as noted by other buyers. On looking at the mechanism, I can see that there could be issues if the studs aren't aligned correctly, but a simple adjustment should be all that is needed if it doesn't drop easily.
This cot is a proper white, meaning it matches our other white furniture in the nursery including the Lasko wardrobe also bought from John Lewis, which is really important for us #why go to the expense of buying new things if they don't look right?#.
All in, at this price point I haven't seen another cot close to matching this one.

The cot looks really good and good size for small spaces. Quick to put together. The drop side function is slightly awkward and not as easy as hoped - might work better after a couple of uses (or need a bit of oiling).
