Q & As

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 98 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Guests always comment on how great they look These chairs are great we have 8, in four different colors. They are easy to put together, not sure why some reviews mention difficulty in this. They are comfortable and sturdy. If you use them on hard flooring such as tiles, they will make a scraping sound, but this can be buffered by chair feet caps. 19 May 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Couldn't be more pleased. These are great chairs. Comfortable, stable, strong, and they look beautiful. Do not listen to those reviews that say they're hard to assemble. If you have even an ounce of mechanical sympathy, you'll put one of these together in five minutes. Just note: * The washers go between the chair seat and frame. They're SLIGHTLY domed - put them so that the pointy side faces into the chair seat. * Put all four screws in LOOSELY at first, then tighten them progressively. That way you'll have no trouble lining up the holes. * The white plastic "clips" are only needed if you want to stack the chairs - otherwise you can unclip and discard or store them. 05 May 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great chairs Really pleased with these - bought 8 in 4 different colours (though would say that the grey is not as dark as it looks on line). Slightly apprehensive about putting them together given the reviews, but after an initial confusion with the plastic protection bits for when you stack them, they were ok and quick to assemble. We worked out that you need to remove the plastic bits for stacking and just use these as and when needed. Do the back screws first and then the front ones - upside down on a table surface, as in the instruction booklet, so that pressure can be applied whilst the second person is putting in the screws. Good product and delighted that we have found a chair that looks good but that can be stacked away when not needed. 30 April 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Useless instructions We bought just one of these to begin with in order to see how it worked in our new Kitchen. We liked it, and my husband found it easy to assemble, although he complained that the instructions were 'perfectly useless'; in particular, because they omitted to indicate whether the washers were to be placed immediately under the bolt head, or between the metal legs and the seat. (He chose the latter, tho' more difficult, and later checked in the store to confirm that this was how the chair on display was assembled - it was.) Today, we received a second one. The box had already been slit open and the instructions - for what they are worth - were missing. My husband also found this one more difficult to assemble because the bolts would not readily line up with the holes, evidently a common experience. He managed after about 15 minutes but only by this time putting the washers immediately under the heads of the bolts. These chairs are not exactly a triumph of Italian engineering but - with a little patience and the availability of an extensive range of colourful vocabulary - probably worth the money. 17 March 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tranformatiom These chairs, contrary to some online comments, weren't too bad to assemble. We ordered the smoky grey chairs. They matched our glass table perfectly and gave the kitchen a real makeover. Because they're transparent, they made the space feel light and airy. Good back support but a little high for my little legs ;) 07 January 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good chair I got the colourless version of this chair to go with a small glass table, also from JL. The two chairs we have plus the table go well with the room they are in. I would say the transparency makes for a less cluttered look. I had read some reviews warning that the chairs were very difficult to assemble, but did not find this to be the case (and I am not good at DIY!). The task is a little fiddly, but can't have taken more than 20 minutes. I would recommend the chair. 22 December 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good looking and comfortable I bought four of these chairs, in the smoke colour, to go with my new round table in my kitchen. They look good with the table (which has a glass top) and the black granite worktops. The chairs are very comfortable to sit on. 17 November 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Gel Chair Assembly tips Bought two of these chairs to use in our office/grand kids play room. The chairs only take a few mins to put together. Like a lot of the other buyers the holes on the legs supplied on the chairs did not line up exactly. To get over this problem put in the three easy screws with the chair upside down as shown on the diagrams. Do not tighten the screws fully. Leave the back leg on the left hand side (when the chair is upside down) as the last to do. The screw did not line up on this one for me. Next put the chair on its side with the left leg with no screw uppermost. Gently put pressure onto the bar of left leg aligning the hole and put in the bolt. When done tighten up the screws as the information leaflet says. In my case i was only trying to move the leg a few millimeters to align the hole. I believe the diagram to be incorrect for the back protection spacers. These need to be placed behind the screws. They will fall down the legs so if you need them a little glue should help. 06 November 2015
