In a tartan fabric, this traditional-looking low armchair, with curving, scrolled arms, buttoned back and elegantly turned antiqued oak legs, has a Scottish baronial style about it.

The seat and back cushions are foam filled, with the seat resting on serpentine springs, the buttoned back on webbing.

Very comfortable chair We bought this chair about six weeks ago. At the time my husband wasn't too happy about spending so much money on a chair, but now he loves it! We now argue over who gets to sit on it!! An extremely comfortable chair and full of character. Unlike a previous reviewer, I think the colours shown on the screen are very true. The accent colour is not purple, but more of a muted magenta tone (not raspberry or purple, but somewhere in between) with a finer accent colour of blue. The seat is a little lower than usual, but this makes it a very relaxing and comfortable seating position, especially with a footstool. Overall we are very happy and glad we bought this chair as it is very comfortable and adds loads of character to our room. 19 March 2013

Not the colour on the internet Dont feel tempted to order this chair without seeing it in the store. The colour on the internet is entirely different to the actual colour. I have looked at other people's laptops so therefore know that it isn't mine throwing up a different colour. My picture indicates that there is a heavy accent of purple but in actual fact, the main colour is a minky brown and yellowish green with a fine purple line. The chair is extremely comfortable but low so dont consider it if you are not agile and have trouble getting out of a low chair. Finally found a comfortable chair with a decent high back. Although it is a classic shape, it doesn't look old-fashioned in my modern room. 13 May 2012

Very comfortable I doubted the wisdom of paying so much for a single chair. Having used it now for 2months, I am more than happy. I like a chair with a deep seat, which it has.The high back is at a perfect angle for resting at the same time being unintrusive when not required. I love the low seat as it makes fo reasy stretching of ones legs. The Tartan fabric has a cosy look, feeling soft and warm. It sits very well with a leather sofa. We have no complaints. 29 January 2012
