Q & As

John Lewis Happy Duck Family 1 5 2 2
Mouldy v quickly On the plus side my daughter loves these ducks and they float nicely in the water when the ducklings are sitting on mummy duck's back. However, as the previous reviewer mentioned, the ducklings do not float upright in the water, but list to the side. Worst of all, they all became mouldy inside extremely quickly and mummy duck, in particular, is impossible to clean. There is a huge surface area on the underside for the water to collect and go mouldy. 11 September 2013
These ducks don't float upright My mother in law purchased these ducks for my daughter, and we were disappointed to discover that the baby ducks do not float upright. They only float sideways. At the risk of my daughter growing up with a fundamental misunderstanding of the correct orientation of a duck in water, we have since purchased an additional family of ducks from an alternative retailer, and found that the weighting of their ducks is more realistic, and therefore provides a representation of the aquatic behaviour of birds within the Anatidae family which is more consistent with the real world. Except for the fact that they are bright yellow. 05 February 2013
