Useless product - can't be used safely for baking loaves This item is utterly useless. Whilst superficially attractive, the accompanying note tells you that it is only suitable for oven use up to 190 degrees. If anyone can find a recipe for bread that is baked at such a low temperature, then you'll have had more success than me. Not a single recipe in Paul Hollywood's bread book recommends baking a loaf at less than 200 degres and many are significantly higher. I now have a completely useless loaf tin. Rubbish! 13 February 2013

IDEAL FOR WHAT I NEEDED IT FOR. A;LL THE LOAF TINS AVAILABLE NOW ARE ALL THE WRONG SIZE AND SHAPE FOR WHAT IT WAS NEEDED FOR SO I WAS DELIGHTED WHEN I SAW THIS ON THE WEBSITE AND ALSO AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE. AM REALLY PLEASED WITH THEM. 23 November 2012

Perfect Have about 15 bread tins but only liked using one until now. This is the shape to have giving a nice sized loaf and the fact that it has " loaf" cooked into the side of the bread adds a little extra. Used at 240 and had no problems but then I didn't read the instructions! 24 October 2012

Attractive and good quality Very attractive tin which leaves a nice 'LOAF' imprint on the side of your loaf! Bread comes out with a good crust. Label said it was only to be used up to 150 o C but I use it at 240 and no problems. 30 September 2012

Lovely looking but how practical? This is a beautiful crafted tin made with steel. I was very suprised to see that it says it can only go up to gas 5 in the oven. Come on John Lewis, have you read many bread recipes! Most loaves need a hot oven I would say around gas 6. Something for potential buyers to consider if they intend to use the tine to bake crusty bread. Any comments would be appreciated 28 August 2012

the search is over I've been looking for a deeper loaf tin for ages - ordinary ones may be ok for cakes but are rubbish for bread. This makes a straight-sided loaf which is easy to remove from the tin and properly crisped on the outside. I'm planning to buy more when they're back in stock. 22 July 2012
