John Lewis JL110 Sewing Machine

Special offer

Product information

The JL110 is ideal if you use your sewing machine as part of a hobby or regularly mend clothes. It's suitable for beginners or those with a little experience of sewing.

It has 14 stitch options, 4-step automatic buttonhole facility, darning plate - and free arm for sewing cuffs or trouser legs; it also comes with a soft dust cover. Use it for sewing light to medium weight fabrics.

This machine includes both a standard and buttonhole foot, seam ripper, spare bobbins and spare needles. It also has a darning plate which sits over the needle plate which acts like a drop feed and stops the fabric coming into contact with the feed teeth.

Please note: this machine can be used with a twin needle, but this is not supplied with it.

Q & As

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 92 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good product, good value I found it slightly tricky to use at first but soon got the hang of it and am looking forward to doing more. Very good value compared to competitors. 18 August 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good value for money Simple instructions meant I was able to set the machine up and use it with ease immediately. I am not an expert sewer by any means so this is an ideal machine for someone who wants to be able to do more than basic sewing and pursue an interest without having to spend a fortune. 18 August 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Really useful product Reluctant to purchase a new sewing machine as I have inherited two old yet trustworthy ones. However both have packed up on me. So, driven by necessity, I bought this one. Reasonably priced, it does everything I need it to do. Light-weight a portable. I love it. 05 August 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Product A really excellent and functional sewing machine that represents good value for the money. It has more features on it than my ageing Singer and is very easy to operate for repair work and basic sewing. My only criticism is the bobbin which is not a 'drop-in' type, but this is not difficult to operate. The stitch and size selection is easy to operate and very responsive. The partner who sold the machine was very knowledgeable about the product. Very pleased with the machine. LIghtweight, and easy to store. 28 July 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by So Easy To Use Brought machine home and was set up, spools filled, threaded and being used within 30 minutes 21 July 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Does what it says in the tin/box Came on time and is easy to work and has all the ability I need 09 June 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect I wanted a basic sewing machine that was reasonably priced. This certainly fits the bill, a great price, very easy to use, very light to carry around, I cannot find anything negative to say, I have been busy making curtains etc since I collected it from my local Waitrose, a brilliant service as always. 02 June 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Machine - Recommended! My husband bought this machine to replace the JL Mini which I wore out making lap quilts. (Yes, the smaller one is capable of more than doll clothes!) The JL110 (white) is so easy to set up with very clear visual and written instructions. It is a smooth sewing action, and quieter than I expected. I love the fact that you can regulate the speed of stitches from very slow to super fast depending how hard you press on the pedal, and the machine just responds with ease. Also switching stitch design is very easy, and there is a clear troubleshooting check box at the back of the manual. The extendable arm is great, as is the fairly roomy storage for the little extras that come with it. (I would pay good money for them alone, btw!) All in all, I am so happy with this machine. 10 May 2015
