Excellent description of the product. Freezer is a performing as expected with minimal running costs. 12 July 2014
easy to use chest freezer useful size of freezer for the two of us. The lid doesn't stay open though, which caught me unawares the first time, and came down on my head. Our previous freezer stayed open. But I won't be caught again! Quite easy to store food as it has a basket and a shelf. 07 May 2014
The Little Cold Box This appliance fit our requirements for a small chest freezer in the garage for 'reserve' supplies. There are a couple of poor design features though. These are 1)the thermostatic control is on the right hand side of the freezer which means you have to pull the freezer out to adjust it. Ours is against the wall so setting has to be done by feel! 2) The hinges stick out at the back meaning the freezer has to be quite away from the wall and even further if you don't want the lid to keep closing and hitting you on the head. The gap at the back is not a problem in our location but would be in a kitchen or utility room 22 April 2014
JUST WHAT WE WANTED Saw it in JL store at MK, looked sturdy. right size for us. Obvious there is no interior light, no problem easy to see into with room light on., one less thing to go wrong! Lid stays up if you put it up! Easy to ensure main switch not accidentally turned off bit of red insulation tape over it...Simples. Arrived as arranged. Delivery good service on time and a pre-phone call, helpful pleasant crew. Followed their advice re, standing before plugging in for 4 hours. Soon achieved correct temperature with just a couple of adjustments to the easy to get at and see temp control and the freezer is doing it's job. 3 year JL warranty is good. If it lasts like our last one (13 years and still working but too big and prob not efficient) we will be well pleased.. 06 March 2014
Design faults This product has a number of serious design faults. The controls are at the side at the back and low down. The freezer can therefore not be placed near a wall or near another appliance if you want to access the temperature control without pulling the fridge out or getting down on your hands and knees. The lid is not counterbalanced and if not fully opened every time you use it the lid can fall on your head. There is no light to indicate that the freezer is on so if accidentally switched off you won't notice until the food in the freezer defrosts. The freezer is made by Electrolux so if you want more baskets you have to contact them. When I questioned this I was told that JL could order them but they would cost more. 17 February 2014
Fantastic little freezer. Spent considerable time in choosing a small, compact freezer. This freezer ticked all the boxes for my requirements. The additional year warranty was also a consideration. Buying from John Lewis meant it was delivered and unpacked for me, placed in the correct position ready for freezing overnight. I have found it a very quiet motor and am, so far, delighted with it. 29 October 2013
