Q & As

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 26 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Does what it says freezer Excellent freezer for the money. It's A+ rating means that it consumes 75% less power than the freezer it replaced. Should have changed it ages ago - at this rate the payback will be approx. 2 years. 01 July 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by A really good freezer A surprisingly capacious freezer, it is quiet when running, seems to be economical and freezes food quickly. Bought to replace a larger, older chest freezer, it fits the bill completely. 30 June 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by JLCH300 Chest Freezer Looks good, does the job, very quiet, came on time 21 April 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very pleased Excellent product, but pleased we kept the baskets from our previous freezer, as the ones supplied would have been inadequate for our needs. 31 March 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sorry was too noisy Bought this freezer on the strength of the 3 years John Lewis guarantee, unfortunately it is placed in our utility near where we eat so the noise level was really important. I contacted JL and replaced the freezer with a Miele one. Thank you JL for making this problem of ours easy to solve, that is why I use JL 31 March 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by So Far so Good. A very quiet machine maintaining a consistent temperature with ease. The large light inside is very useful when used in an outbuilding. 20 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product This freezer matched its description and I am very pleased with it and it fits perfectly in my utility room . Delivery was as promised and the delivery men were polite and helpful - well done John Lewis 02 September 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by One design flaw - otherwise all good As someone else has said, the only requirement of a freezer is that it freezes stuff and lasts a long time. Well, it does freeze stuff but I can't comment on how long it lasts as we've only had it for four days. So first impressions are that it seems fine and looks rather nice - all gleaming white, including the top (our previous one had a durable surface on the top, which may have been more practical but didn't look as good). A couple of things surprise me though - one quite serious: 1. As someone else pointed out, the temperature control is low down, near the front, on the right hand side of the freezer. If you're putting the freezer in a confined space, as we have, you certainly won't be able to see this control and may not even be able to reach it at all. The freezer is described as being 106cm wide, but you probably need to allow at least another 3cm to get your hand in to operate this control. I really think this should be made clear in the description. 2. This is probably fine but I'm surprised how cold the outside of the freezer feels to the touch, suggesting that the insulation could be better. It's not in itself a problem and presumably it's all working as intended but still I'm surprised. I've knocked off a star because of the badly position temperature control, which may not matter that much as, once set, you probably don't need to touch it again. In all other respects it seems as good as I would expect from JL. 15 August 2014
