Q & As

John Lewis JLDWW1202 Dishwasher, White 1.8 5 15 15
John Lewis JLDWW1202 Dishwasher, White We bought this Dishwasher just over 3 years ago and now it doesn,t heat the water properly. Many of the Dishwasher repair companies will give you a fixed price for repair but only on branded products not John Lewis units. We have always purchased our Electricals from John Lewis but in the Future we will buy branded products. Plus all our previous Dishwasher have lasted around 7 8 years, I would have thought this John Lewis Dishwasher should also last that sort of time Could say Not fit for purpose 14 January 2015
Dissapointing I am disappointed with this appliance from John Lewis, purchased 3+ years ago. I have a JL fridge purchased at the same time and have had no problems. This dishwasher is temperamental in its cleaning abilities, tablet not always dissolved, salt and rinse aid constantly need replenishing and finally today the handle snapped off in my hand! Will need to replace this appliance but will choose a Bosch as I previously had. Expected more from John Lewis product. 17 December 2014
Very dissapointing I have had years of John Lewis products as have my mum and never had a problem with the quality until now.. My previous dishwasher from John Lewis was amazing, good quality, robust, and could not find one single fault and lasted for nine years of hard labour. When it came to replacing it there was no question of looking around and went straight to John Lewis and picked this one. Well, I have had and used for one week now and it is absolutely awful, such poor quality and flimsy trays inside which feel like they will break very easily. As for the multi tab function this is the worst - you have two double use buttons which you must select EVERY SINGLE TIME you use machine and let me tell you this is no easy job, it says to select wash first then press these two buttons but when you press them they just keep changing the washing program to one you didn't want, eventually I get it to multi tab function but by this time 7,8,9, goes later its on the wrong wash and you have to just give up. I have not yet been able to get it on a wash that I have chosen and just have to accept whatever it has selected while trying to set multi tab use. This is so very disappointing and am shocked that John Lewis would actually put their quality name to this dishwasher when the dishwasher is nowhere near the original standard of John Lewis quality. I will certainly think twice in future where I go shopping and will not automatically just go to John Lewis like I have done for many years. 06 November 2014
Disappointed I bought this dishwasher 3 years ago, but have been disappointed with it. It works fine, but a crack appeared above the handle just over a year ago. We had the control panel replaced, but another crack has just appeared in the same place. I rang John Lewis this morning, only to discover that the guarantee expired in August. So, we will have to pay to get it repaired. I've had other products from John Lewis, that have been absolutely fine. Very annoying. 04 November 2014
More washed out than the plates. We were very disappointed with this dishwasher, not only does it fail to wash adequately, but the handle broke. When we rang John Lewis and requested it to be fixed it was a very stressful ordeal. Usually John Lewis have wonderful customer service and after care yet this time was different. However in the end it got fixed and it is still running and gets us through the day so I award it 2 stars. 26 October 2014
Pretty good value I had a bosch which was great but lasted just over two years before it broke beyond repair. Bought this a month or two ago and it can't find anything wrong so far! It's a bit awkward to load but I'm getting used to that. It has more functions than my previous machine and washes fine. It dries better than my previous machine too. The layout could be better and it does feel a little flimsier, but with its 3 year guarantee it's great value. 12 September 2014
Bin - worthy We bought this machine 3 years ago and have had a series of problems with it from the very start. Initially the front fascia cracked where the power button is, making it inoperable. This was fixed but other problems as highlighted by other purchasers include stacking problems, fundamental flaws with the internal design, failure for the dispenser flap to open during the running of the machine, or opening 5 mins from the end of the cycle resulting in a gloopy dishwasher tablet mess smeared round the bottom of the machine. Most seriously of all though was the machine would suddenly stop working mid-cycle and an error message would flash up. We discovered that if we just ran the machine on a fast 30 min wash this didn't happen. Needless to say the plates and cutlery were rarely sparkling on this setting. However, it's now finally stopped working on this setting so the machine is ready for landfill 40 months after purchase. I would rate it zero stars but that's not an option. 03 May 2014
Very disappointing Tablet dispenser failed twice - replaced once under guarantee but failed a second time after the guarantee had run out. I now throw the tablet into the bottom of the machine. The wheels and spindles on the lower basket are made of such poor quality plastic that they will no longer stay vertical and cause the basket to slip off its runners (the metal ridges along the inside of the machine) which means that the basket falls down into the bottom of the machine and prevents the washer arm from turning. The spindles of the wheels have gone brittle as have the clips that hold the wheels on the basket, which means they don't stay upright. One has shattered completely and the other 7 are close to it! The top basket is very badly designed - any mugs or bowls put down the edges fall over - unless they are propped up by another item. The hinged shelves at the top prevent you putting taller items, etc on the edges of the basket so they fall over too. 20 March 2014
