One of my best ever purchases! John Lewis JLDWW906 Slimline Dishwasher, White I waited a year before writing a review having bought the JLDWW906 Slimline Dishwasher in early May 2013. It's my first dishwasher and I use it about 4 times a week. When family visit (up to extra 5 people incl 3 young children) the dishwasher can be on twice a day. It's so quick and easy. The winning factor is the 36 minute cycle. It's perfect for my needs. One of my best ever purchases! 13 April 2014
Not viable to repair - failing after 4 years I am disappointed with this model as it has failed after just after 4 years and the repair engineer says it's not financially viable to repair as it is a fault in the board not a sensor. 21 February 2014
Not quite up to scratch I bought this dishwasher just over a year ago to replace my 7 year old slimline Bosch that I'd left in my previous place. I had high hopes when I saw the range of programmes as they seemed right for my needs. But I've been disappointed as whatever the programme I end up having to wash some things by hand, even quite lightly soiled items. I check filters etc but they are clean. The annoying cutlery basket and the wet plates after the Eco cycle are minor grouses for me, which I'd put up with if it actually cleaned stuff consistently. It's also rather noisy and can be heard from the bedroom at night. It's not even as good as the free one i was given with the kitchen I had put in some years back in a previous house. As soon as I can afford to I'll replace it, probably with a Bosch or a Siemens. Contrast this with the brilliant JL washer drier I bought at the same time! 05 February 2014
Could be better We bought this dishwasher two months ago to replace an 11-year-old Zanussi which had served us well; we relied on the John Lewis name in choosing a successor, but have been somewhat disappointed. Whilst it is generally reliable and quiet in operation, we have two reservations. The first, which was immediately evident, has to do with the cutlery basket. Rather unnecessarily (we think) it is designed to come apart but the various sections and flaps do not stay in place when reassembled; this might be because the securing flanges are too small. Sometimes the top flaps spring open as cutlery is removed after washing, making it difficult to withdraw them. (The replacement you have kindly supplied is slightly better, although the design fault remains.) Secondly, the machine does not dry as well as our old one. Indeed, the contents need to be dried with a tea-cloth after the Eco-cycle and, since a dishwasher that doesn’t dry is only half a dishwasher, we no longer use that cycle. Even on other programmes, it is often necessary to dry some of the contents separately. I write this more in sorrow than in anger for, having traded with John Lewis for over fifty years, I find this unusual experience is especially disappointing. Brian W Long MBE 30 August 2013
Fine for three years, now we have problems getting parts We bought this dishwasher three and a half years ago, and until now have been very pleased with it. However, the motor has now failed, apparently because the seal around it has been letting water through. As it's now out of guarantee, we called in a good local repairer. Unfortunately all their attempts to get a price for a new motor out of Electrolux, which is apparently where it has to come from, have failed. I would far rather repair than buy a new one (what a waste!) but it looks as though we may not have the option. Am now not sure whether to replace it with a John Lewis model, or go for a different brand for which parts may be easier to get. 26 February 2013
Doesn't dry We bought this to replace a 10 yr old John Lewis slimline after the wheels on the lower basket just refused to stay on anymore. We have found it more fiddly to load than the previous one, particularly balancing anything on the cup rack but most annoying is that it does not dry the dishes. As half the job of washing up is drying it is really annoying to have to dry everything as you unload and does defeat half the point of having a dishwasher. Not finding JL appliances as reliable as they were and as I am online now to look to replace our 3 yr old JL washing machine I think I will be looking to another brand. 24 January 2013
well priced slimline product easy to use with a quick everyday wash and all the benefits of buying from JL 10 January 2013
Great range of programmes I am really pleased I went with this dishwasher - a month into using it I have no reservations about recommending it. The range of programmes from 30 minute and half load to auto temp is really useful and the fold up or down racks on the bottom shelf and top sides make it a really versatile space - everything fits in it no problem at all I am pleased I read a review saying that the person was glad they had kept their old dishwasher's cutlery store as I agree with them - the provided one is OK but I prefer my old one too and it fits just fine! Fantastic service from the John Lewis installation engineers too - friendly and efficient and kindly coped with my stinky old dishwasher! 06 January 2013
