John Lewis JLFSEC612 Induction Hob Electric Cooker, Stainless Steel

Product information

Finished in contemporary stainless steel to complement your kitchen, the John Lewis JLFSEC612 electric cooker boasts an induction hob and plenty of features for simplified at home cooking.

4 zone induction hob
Induction ensures an effortless way of cooking, giving near-instant heat (comparable to gas) and allowing you to precisely control the temperature at which you cook. As only the area at the base of the pan is heated, it's also highly efficient and doesn't waste energy.

The main multi-function oven offers a range of features and functions for the best possible cooking results, while the top cavity boasts an electric dual circuit grill and conventional electric oven for added cooking flexibility.

An internal light illuminates the main oven interior so you can see clearly through the viewing window. With catalytic liners, the oven cavities in this JLFSEC612 cooker provide effortless maintenance, as the lining resists cooked-on food and spills for supremely easy cleaning.

Handy timer
Thanks to a fully programmable timer, your dinner can be ready for when you arrive home from work - simply set the timer and the oven will switch on and go off at the set times.

Advice and information
Only use pans suitable for induction hobs, these include: enamelled steel, iron, stainless steel (depending on the alloy) and some aluminium pans with a ferromagnetic base. Glass and copper bases are unsuitable.

Q & As

Rated 4 out of 5 by 17 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 Good product Very pleased with the cooker, was worried after reading some of the reviews however, the hob has not scratched (as mentioned in some reviews) and is very easy to clean. The only downfall is the steam from the ovens ventilating onto any pans on the hob. 24 November 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by JL Cooker I had to have 3 cookers delivered before I got one that worked perfectly. It is a great cooker with induction hob. This enables you to control the hob much better than other electric hobs. Well worth the wait. 15 November 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Induction Hob cooker Took some getting used to, oven very quick to come to temperature also the Hob control is instant 27 October 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Impressive Induction cooking is very different from conventional electric and takes a bit of getting used to, as controllable as gas but without the flame you are not sure how high or low the heat is. Hob heats very fast and various program features make it very flexible. Many options when using upper and lower ovens which will cope with a variety of cooking requirements. Hob had a scratch on delivery but this matter was resolved with John Lewis. The touch zone for upper or lower oven requires us to touch the symbol and the steel case at the same time, we are awaiting a comment from the manufacturer re this matter. Be prepared for a learning curve before you dispense with the instruction book. 17 October 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Functional Bought this cooker a few months ago from John Lewis, Norwich. Good points ..... Solid construction, large oven capacity, both ovens coated with self cleaning material, only base of ovens enamel. Triple glass doors... Good heat insulation. Touch controls very responsive, induction hob very responsive and well controlled. Easy to clean. Looks very contemporary, actually looks better in kitchen than in display. Large grill pan, oven lights in both ovens. Grill in both ovens. Height adjustable. Bad points......... Top oven grill does not respond immediately, takes a few minutes to actually turn on and heat up once turned on from control. Induction hob....... Surface scratches very easily. Very disappointed with this as it ruins the appearance of the cooker. I've been very careful with placing pans on and off the hob, but already several noticeable scratches have appeared. My previous cooker was nearly 20yrs old (halogen hob) and didn't have any scratches on it alt all. I'm almost close to saying the hob surface isn't fit for purpose. But, it works very well so far, just in time it will look an utter mess. So, from that perspective, for a cooker of this price, I'm quite disappointed. Hence my 3 star rating. If the hob was more durable I would have score this appliance 4-5. 06 October 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Induction cooking I have to say I really do love this cooker. It has inspired me to actually do baking and the cakes are great. The cooker also looks really stylish and is easy to use after the first couple of times. My old cooker always used to burn things and this one just cooks perfect definitely worth purchasing. 03 October 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by great cooker! first time with an induction hob and really like it, easy to use and very responsive - don't need to worry about burning pans once you turn the hob off 23 September 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Excellent cooker but clunky controls Lots of good things about this - love the induction hob & everything I have cooked in the oven has come out well. Unfortunately it is let down by clunky controls which are extremely unintuitive. The book needs to be close at hand at all times just so we can check how to turn the oven on! On top of that some of the controls/functions are just bizarre. The clock can only be reset by switching off the mains and switching on again (at least I haven't been able to find any other way of doing it). The timer has an irritating habit of switching off whatever you are cooking - clearly the designers have never cooked anything that needs the temperature altering partway through the process. Also there are times the switches just don't work, we haven't worked out quite why this is. So 5 stars for the cooker but 1 for the controls 07 September 2015
