John Lewis JLFSMC607 Dual Fuel Cooker, Stainless Steel 1.7 5 6 6
Nice top, shame about the ovens This is a good looking product let down by the poor oven performance. Temperatures are either slow to rise in the main oven (over 30 minutes to acheive 175C with fan on), or rise too far in the top oven (set at 180C rises to 240C). The hob by contrast was excellent. The cooker was rejected as not fit for purpose and to JL's credit the cost was refunded. 18 March 2013
Do Not buy this cooker Was excited when purchase this cooker, thought that it would be very good due to it not being what I call cheap. What a disaster, you cannot cook over 225 degrees the oven cuts out, have spoilt meals. Have noticed that previous people have also experienced this. We have had a engineer out twice. We are now trying to get a new cooker from John Lewis, have had enough. 18 November 2012
John Lewis name, built by Smeg After a lot of research, i was in the market for a Smeg Dual Fuel Cooker. After finding this model in John Lewis i noticed the similarities and confirmed it was built by Smeg. A cheaper option, with a longer warranty, but all with the same great perfromance. Very pleased with purchase and the service received. Would highly recommend. 28 October 2012
not very good John Lewis cooker I bought this cooker because it has the John Lewis brand so I assumed it would be of good quality. It cost around £200 more than the average cooker this too was reassurung but I have been very disappointed in it.The glass in the cooker shattered at 2 years 9 months old. The timer no longer works, the covers for the lights fell off, the oven light doesnt work, the coating on the knobs melted slightly so now now have a scuffed look. the inside of the oven door was damaged by oven cleaner because what I thought was metal turned out just to be coating. Drips between the panes in the glass door cant be cleaned. I wouldnt mind but it hasn't really had a lot of use in the last year because I now live on my own. This is a shoddy piece of eqiupment and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. 12 August 2012
Lots wrong with this cooker The oven light went in the first month and needed a Smeg engineer to fit a new one, and if you have both ovens on high for longer than half an hour, the bottom ones cuts out and shuts down. This happened on Christmas Day, and again last week. So I now need to get the engineer out again - and it isn't even 12 months old yet. Not good for a John Lewis branded product 08 April 2012
Struggling to find anything good about this cooker Having lived with this cooker for three weeks I cannot find anything positive to say about it. The hobs are back to front so you find yourself leaning over the cooker to use the rear hobs most of the time. The oven light goes out long before the oven is up to temperature. It can take up to 30 minutes for the oven to reach temperature. We used a Heston Blumenthal Oven Thermometer from John Lewis to check the temperatures and we found them to be as much as 20 degrees out. When we questioned this we were told that according to the manufacturers (Smeg) this is within their tolerances and not a fault. If you use the bottom element of the oven and food drips onto it you will find that it burns and is impossible to keep clean. 30 March 2012
