Rated 5 out of 5 by cxs1 Impressive light
Installed it myself over a modern dining table and happily it looks fabulous, off as well as illuminated.
I was concerned by some previous comments regarding quality issues but I have had no such problems; all pieces were perfect and adequately packaged, assembly was really not a problem, including reducing the cable length to the cluster from the rose, and no issues with the transformer to date. Not looking forward to having to change a bulb, but I'm sure I'll cope assuming they continue to be readily available. Sure that I have benefitted from improvements made to the item as a result of earlier buyer issues.

What an epic my dad and I have just had fitting this light !
Firstly, this was the second one we have had, the first being delivered minus the fixing bracket (I found that it had previously been returned by another customer and thrown into the box...lamps still attached, broken etc...).
Unpacking the contents we found one of the incredibly fragile glass balls to be broken (popping into JL tomorrow to enquire about a replacement). We found to our surprise that the the length on the cables must have been close to 1.5 - 2 metres and there was no instruction on how to shorten them. In fact, I'm not sure it was ever designed to be adjusted. The cables are clamped at a set position over a heat shrunk clear sleeve. I don't think this was ever meant to be removed. There's only a rubber grommet for setting the point at which the cables angle off at.
We decided to remove and reposition the clamps that take the weight of the cables/light fittings and reduced the length to suit. The next challenge is to untangle all the wires and assemble the other parts without breaking them. Your heart is in your mouth as you carefully place them together. Forget trying not to touch the bulbs as installing the rubber grommets bring your fingers/hand into contact. Again, very little instruction on how to do this properly. The electrical side to this was easy enough.
The finished product when fitted is quite impressive but a lot of work and very awkward. The components are of poor quality...as another customer mentioned threads etc are weak and you feel unable to tighten anything in fear of stripping or cross threading them. The glass balls are like spun sugar ! Very fragile.
A very nice light ,if you can be bothered....

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pinkteddy Impressive when fitted BUT an EFFORT to FIT!
Once fitted, it really looks impressive and after all the issues, we still think it was worth the bother. However, given the price and the amount of work required it offers less value!
You probably need both an electrician and a very capable handyman. The electrician part is very simple, just the usual two cables, then your problems begin. The light comes with the cables somewhat tangled, even though they are held together....not a good start. To adjust the height and to put it in order and to fit the bulbs and glass modules, requires much dexterity and forward planning. In the end, with two heads, we found an excellent process that resulted in the light being fitted at the height required as the designer intended! It's a shame no instructions was attached. I was considering putting our process on YouTube.

Rated 4 out of 5 by pravinagr Beautiful but really testing time to DIY
Its up & beautiful but some parts broken & JL team hasn't responded back & we feel ignored. We called customer service, they advised to contact the store. We contacted the store twice but no one has come back for more than 4 months which is disappointing! We got busy & didnt chase them up anymore.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JG17 Beautiful lights but terrible fittings and instructions
Now the lights are finally up they look fabulous but what a nightmare getting them up! One fitting was damaged and couldn't be used although john Lewis are ordering a replacement. Adjusting the length is impossible as the weight is too much for the flimsy fitting that is supposed to hold the lights at a shorter length. We have had to use cable ties instead which is very poor given the cost of the lights. The instructions are more or less non existent and useles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mwh20 Pain to install but looks amazing
Took about 6 hours to fit.
Think someone needs to look at the quality tolerances on some of the parts, some of the threads were broken on the parts that screw together which is an extra pain when it's already difficult to put together. It is a lot of money when considering the amount of assembly required but now it's up it does look brilliant.
Instructions were non existant and there was no information on the quantities of each part.
Note that the cable length is very long it's not obvious how to adjust the length.

We are so pleased with this product, it looks absolutely stunning in our bedroom.
Took longer to install than I would have liked, and we did have an issue with some of the parts not fitting, but JohnLewis was amazing at helping us sort it all out.
Anyway, all that is behind us and the product far exceeds our expectations.

We wanted a feature light and this is perfect! Except for the length of time and the DIY skills of my husband required to put it together this is an excellent quality light that we would recommend.
