John Lewis Loft Desk, Reborn
As others have said a very nice pretty solid desk. The points to note are;
- The sides and back of the top part and a cross member underneath are made of chipboard but I don't see that as a problem. I just didn't expect it from reading other reviewers and product details.
- When assembling you have some specially necked screws to put in that act as pins. Don't be tempted to screw these really tight as if you do their heads will be too far in to work with the tightening cams provided. I ended up breaking one of the cams because of this and was mightily relieved to find a spare one (so perhaps not the first person to make this mistake)

It's fantastic easy to put together and fitted nicely into an unused space

Looks good in sons room but....
A real pain to put together even though it looks simple the instructions were not. Also discovered a large crack at side after assembling, but couldn't face taking it apart and going through the hassle of repacking and sending back!
Not very good quality paintwork either, actually maybe i should send it back.

Fun looking and useful
Easy to assemble (my 15 year old daughter did it herself). She loves the different coloured cubby holes and they help keep her school supplies organized. Good workspace as well.

Nice design, OK quality
This is a nicely designed, neat desk. The slots are particularly useful for storage and the holes for the wires allow it to neatly accommodate a laptop computer. Unfortunately, the quality is only average. The painted backs of the slots look like they have been done in watercolour and the general finish is a bit rough and ready. For a simple, relatively inexpensive desk this is probably fine; as a statement piece it doesn't really pass muster.

Looks great but not the best quality product
The first desk I bought was damaged when it was delivered so I sent it back. Had another one sent and left it a while before putting it together. Unfortunately this was also damaged but not as noticeably and as I'd had it for so long I've kept it, i didn't want the hassle of returning another one..
Think the quality control at the factory needs to improved.
Not what I'm use to from John lewis I'm afraid.

Ideal for teen bedroom
Our 11 year old son is really pleased with his new desk. It is attractive and big enough for homework and laptop without overwhelming the bedroom. The colours are an unusual feature and the wire holes on both sides are useful for laptop and phone charger.
The desk was easy to put together and feels solid. Hopefully this desk will see him through to GCSEs!
