John Lewis Logan Desks
Although the end result looks great, this has to be one of the most frustrating to put together pieces of flatpack furniture ever. Firstly, not all of the fittings are indicated in the instructions, leaving you to guess when some parts are needed. I ended up with a few unused dowels at the end, even though I'd been taking care to use them all.
Secondly, the pre-drilled holes aren't very accurate. I snapped one cam lock trying to get it to fit,and had to leave several other elements when they refused.to go in at all - I think it's only gravity holding it together now. It seems surprising, given the apparent quality of the item.

Excellent and I love it - but very minor assembly concerns.
This desk gets some terrible reviews, and I thought twice about buying, but am very glad I have.
The packaging had some transit damage but the desk is fine and has no marks of any kind and looks good.
Assembly quite straightforward but part (vanity panel cam locks) require a short handled screw driver. The illustrated hammer for the dowels was not required, a tap with the screwdriver handle did the trick.
A nylon insert was missing so one cam stud could not be fitted, which was just as well because one cam lock was broken. It seems over engineered in this regard so this is not a problem. Spares could have been sought but the legs are already fixed with two very sturdy bolts, six dowels and seven cam locks each so I haven't done anything about it. The desk is rock solid without this one fixing.
For assembly the drawer removal, (drawers are just pushed onto the metal runners for transit) is not clear in the instructions, and it's not immediately apparent that you just pull and keep pulling.
Similarly locating the screw hole to fix the drawer to the runner for final assembly is clear if you realise what needs to be done but not obvious in the leaflet.
Finally it is a bit higher at 77cm than an older JL desk which is 73cm - not a big deal but take note.
However in summary I am very happy and delighted that I have it. John Lewis exemplary exchange or refund is reassuring and will help if you get a bad one, so I wouldn't hesitate recommend to a friend or buy another if required.

Not great quality
Arrived on time, great delivery people.
Product design is clean and crisp but the quality is poor, certainly not in line with my expectation of JL. Personally, I think it costs far too much for this quality. I'm disappointed as I was happy to spend that amount but expected more.

You need strength to assemble this
A really tough product to assemble. Poor design means a difficult angle to tighten the screws inside the drawer space. These screws then stick out a little and leave score marks along the inside of the draws.
As others have commented there are small marks in the surfaces and there was chipped veneer along side of the cabinet.
It is a nice looking desk, plenty of space but you need strong hands to assemble parts of it & the quality is nowhere near expectations of JL furniture.

Not as good quaity as I thought
I was really looking forward to getting this desk as I thought everything from John Lewis was good quality. Unfortunately, on opening the box the first thing that I noticed was that one of the drawer fronts was damaged. The veneer was chipped in the corner. The desk looks smart but I am not sure the quality is that good for the price. I also found the product description confusing "solid oak veneer" - surely it is either solid wood or a veneer? For the price I do not think the desk is value for money. The good thing is that John Lewis collected the desk and refunded me without any trouble. Their customer service was excellent.

Great looking functional desk
This is a great looking functional desk. The self assembly takes patience and fiddle: getting each leg on to the table top needs alignment of 12 assorted dowels, cam locks and screws with respective holes. (I speak as a dab hand with an Ikea flat pack!) But the effort was worth it!

decent bot nothing spectacular
I wanted to replace an Ikea desk that I had for some time, and went for this one. I have had it for almost a month and it's good enough for everyday use, looks good and is sturdy.
Nothing fancy, it's 'just' a nice desk, I like it, perfect size for me at the moment with two monitors and plenty of room left for other stuff.
