Q & As

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 39 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by A belter! And at long last I have a duvet that's not too hot for me. It is lightweight but with a cover it feels right. 23 June 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fabulous! A fabulously light but snugly duvet and a good night's sleep! Looking at other reviews especially the one about the filling not packing the pockets - it IS only 2.5 tog so it probably isn't designed to and is beautifully made. I did wonder if it would be warm enough, you can hardly feel it covering you but it's lightness only adds to the cocoon enveloping you! Love it! 11 June 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by super light and comfy Very light summer duvet, just right from May to September. We have bought 2 for ourselves and a few as gifts for the in-laws. Perfect warmth for the spring and summer nights. 09 June 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Gorgeous Honestly? I really wouldn't have believed all those reviews saying that a 2.5 tog was warm enough........if I hadn't bought a 10 tog in the same range last year and had to give it up in favour of a 7 tog as it was too hot. That 7 tog has been too warm lately and so I have changed it for this 2.5 one. It's an average May in the UK. Daytime temps are mid teens and night time ones are 4 degrees minimum. And this duvet is absolutely perfect! (I actually think it will be too warm in August if we get a summer.) Also, I aired it for 24 hours indoors (see above about average May weather) and it doesn't smell at all. It isn't wake-yourself-up crunchy either and the down doesn't shed, unlike some cheaper online versions I've had in the past that leave the house looking like the fox has been at the chicken coop every time you change the duvet cover! Thoroughly recommended. 27 May 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Too Hot , Too Long ! My husband and I have been using this 2.5 tog duvet since the second week of April and as yet even the chillier Spring nights have not interrupted our sleep. It is extremely well made and extraordinarily comfortable. LUXURY ! 12 May 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Goose down duvet with screwed up filling! I collected this duvet this morning and could not believe it when holding it up to the light that most of the pockets have the goose down all in one edge or corner, so that there are vast areas of the duvet that have no filling at all! Obviously no quality control whatsoever. I certainly would not recommend this duvet, which is going back to John Lewis. 09 April 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by You have been warmed We were looking for something really light that wouldn't overheat us in the night. We had a top quality 4.5 Tog that was too warm. This 2.5 Tog was one of very few down ones we could find. It does the job, it's quite light and not too warm. Still warmer than we were hoping for, but an improvement over the 4.5. Price is high though, so before you make the commitment make sure that incremental improvement will be enough. 07 April 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Check the filling Having recently purchased an excellent 7 tog 100 % Siberian goose down duvet from JL's, I was disappointed to find that our new Hungarian 2.5 tog duvet has some completely empty pockets! Easy to spot because the down is dark rather than white. I will ask for an exchange because I still think 2.5 tog will be perfect for summer use. Having watched the online video extolling the virtues of the Herbert Parkinson Partnership, perhaps quality control should be given a higher priority. 21 February 2015
