heels worn through after only 4 days wear so were returned. Either a faulty pair of socks or really bad quality material used in product.

oh is that what i bought? socks. yes, they were averagely good three star summer socks, although 'mercerised', which if i remember on asking means cotton. What can you say about socks. A disappointing christmas present, if you're six ( a train set would have been expected), but i'm not. more like sixty six!!! on reflection they're cool socks. i'd buy them again. I don't mean that i haven't bought them already, i mean i'd buy another pair. or three. as that's how they come. i hope they don't shrink.

Rated 4 out of 5 by palindrome socks without stretch aren't so prone to shrinkage - that's good
I have bought so many different brands and types of socks from different retailers however these are the only ones that withstand the wash prescribed on the care label without shrinking . the quality and weight of cotton in all products (including John Lewis) is, in my experience, falling fast, as the price of this commodity rises worldwide. Which is why so many socks t shirts etc shrink and warp so badly - (and t shirts are so thin and see through! ) . This product doesn't get five stars because two pairs of the 20 I've bought in the past two years have worn through after ten wears (that's only ten days) and after about six washes they all shrink a little, but not half as much as other socks I've bought. The bagginess others complain of doesn't affect my husband - they fit but don't nag at his ankles and are loose on his toes. About to buy more !

I thought this own brand product represented good value for money however I was disappointed with the quality of these socks.
After their first wash they lost their shape and became less comfortable to wear, rucking up in my shoes and slipping down my ankles.
Although the cost of branded socks sold individually is less palatable the quality and overall value they represent is better.

I bought 6 pair for my husband for christmas. They do feel lovely and soft however, every time he puts them on, they slip down his foot into the shoe for some reason.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FreeB Very comfortable socks for work
Made from very smooth and cool cotton fabric, these socks are my first choice for work, where the office can get quite hot. They don't rely on stretch in the fabric in order to grip the feet, and nor do they retain too much heat. As a consequence they are very comfortable to the skin, and not too hot.
Because the fabric doesn't stretch to grip the skin they do move around a bit on the foot. This only becomes an issue if I am wearing them without shoes at home, when they tend to slip about. I don't need to adjust them when I wear them to work, but I think comfort is to an extent a personal thing, and some people might find any movement in the fabric is an issue.
Because movement on the foot is a necessary aspect of not gripping the feet through fabric stretch (which I find uncomfortable for my little toes) I am not going to drop them a star.

These were bought for a summer holiday to go with specific trousers and shoes. They did the trick but would only be suitable for light summer wear would probably last four years with only holiday usage.
