Q & As

John Lewis Mika Cotbed, White 4.3 5 3 3
Solid and stylish Got this for my 10 month old baby. Was deciding between the very popular and well-rated ALEX cotbed and the less reviewed MIKA. Decided on this and having seen both in store, the MIKA is a sturdier build. Don't get me wrong, the Alex was tempting because of price, but decided to pay a little extra for something less common. First one arrived and was returned as crack in wood and got it replaced immediately. The style of the MIKA is nicer, wider slats and more stylish in my opinion. The other benefit is that when you convert this to a bed, the footrest is a separate piece,, so the bed actually looks like a bed i.e. the head rest and footrest are NOT the same height (the ALex Is). In summary, I would recommend as alternative cotbed to the Alex is you are prepared to pay a little re, but not pay over the odds. The birch wood is heavier than pine, and the only reason why I don't give this 5 stars is because of the original delivery being defective. 02 April 2013
Looks great, sturdy and good quality Really pleased so far, bit tricky to assemble but got there. Looks just like photo's and is good and solid. Doesn't feel like wood as mich as veneer but still feels good quality 04 June 2012
Good Sturdy Design I did have a look in other shops but always find myself going back to John Lewis. The lady in the shop was very helpful and helped with our choice of mattress. This is a very well made, sturdy cotbed. It was very well packaged and easy to assemble. The only reason I didn't give five stars was that there was a small crack in one of the parts. Can't wait for the babies to arrive now and see what they think of it! 02 May 2012
