Product information

Fall sound asleep on this mattress from our Natural Collection knowing your body has the support and comfort it needs. The goat Angora mattress features the Revolution Super HD Airflow pocket spring system, with each pocketed spring containing an additional inner spring for extra support.

With 10,000 springs in a kingsize mattress, you will have a stress-free slumber. It is hand made in Yorkshire, using cotton for sumptuous feel. Then blended with hemp, a strong natural fibre which provides resilience to give cushioned recovery and breathability, you will have a soft landing every night.

These natural fibres have been used because of their ability to regulate body temperature and to reduce environmental impact. Plus, blended with goat Angora, Yorkshire wool, British fleece wool, Egyptian cotton, linen and cotton will give you superior softness and cool comfort. Containing natural lavender, this mattress promotes peace, serenity and a restful night sleep.

As well as a warm wooly side, the cool cotton side of this mattress has breathable fabric around the springs which gives enhanced cooling airflow. Turn it with the seasons to feel the full benefit.

Please note: The Mohair used in our mattresses is ethically sourced from Angora goats. Our supplier, from South Africa, is a member of the South African Mohair Growers’ Association and is committed to providing the best possible conditions for animals. Each goat produces between four and five kilograms of Mohair annually and is shorn twice a year in a humane manner.

Q & As

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by A dream They say the quality is remembered a long time after the price. This mattress whilst not cheap is a dream. The only downside is that I want to spend more time on it! 23 June 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by problems within a few months...and back pain. I was very interested in purchasing a mattress with natural components and tried the natural range at John Lewis where a helpful shop assistant suggested we try a medium firmness considering our weight. Purchase and delivery were good but on delivery my wife and I did think the mattress felt quite soft (a feeling we didn't have with our previous sprung or tempur mattresses). We persevered but within a few months the mattress has become a pain to sleep on. There is a very noticeable roll to the middle which is frankly disappinting and a feeling of no support whatsoever - more that the heavy parts of your body just sink. This is despite the heavy mattress being turned frequently and has led to unsettled sleep and back pain. I now sleep on a cheap foam mattress which is much more supportive. Beware that in my experience the mattress isn't abe to provide a comfortable supportive nights sleep And has actually deteriorated on terms of support withone the few months we have had it. I am currently waiting for a reply from John Lewis to my 3 attempts to discuss these issues. 18 April 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Superb! Cannot fault this mattress whatsoever. It is so comfortable it feels as though I'm sleeping on a soft yet supportive cloud. No need for a mattress topper as the natural fillings feel just like one. Think of how many night's sleep you'll have on it compared to what you could spend on a hotel for one night. It's an investment and worth every penny in my opinion. 03 April 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it We have had this mattress for about 3 months and love it. It gives us enough support without being too firm. We got the medium support as we are both quite slim. We turned and rotated it for the first few weeks but now we are sleeping on the winter side. the alleged smell goes with a few hours airing and did not notice it even on the first night. The delivery was good and the old mattress taken away. A hassle free purchase 10 February 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by very disappointed ! I was really looking forward to my new bed, now my heart has sunk nearly as far as the bed does!! For some reason the bed does not offer the support one would expect from a bed of this design and price. I ordered the medium option as I am not overweight however, the bed forms a hollow under pressure which is very uncomfortable. I even checked the label to ensure this was the mattress I ordered and not a Tempur as the mattress behaves as a cheap Tempur would. The springs do not recover from any resistance for some time. I have found that I can reduce the problem by turning the mattress twice a week but still spend my days with heavy eyes and a bad back. 20 January 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Utterly disappointed Sadly this has been a disappointing purchase from the outset. Initially the delivery from John Lewis to us was a complete mix up with conflicting information from the store the store apologised for the mistakes made and said they would reimburse the charge for the disposal of our old mattress, this was never reimbursed. . The mattress was delivered to us on the 2nd September 2014, our mattress is a superking. The mattress is dual tension, my husbands side is firm whilst mine is medium tension. We have had the mattress now for six weeks .For me this mattress is a complete disaster and I have not slept well at all or the six weeks we have had it. I find this mattress to be far too hot and the uncomfortable heat wakes me even though in the brochure the Natural Angora incorporates the Super HD Airflow throughout the mattress, The mattress has sagged already, and I am confined to sleep in the dip of my body width and not the 3 ft area of my chosed superking mattress, this exacerbates the heat problem and therefore does not make for a restful nights sleep. I am extremely disappointed and tired. Even the label on the bottom of the mattress has been stitched on crookedly in all not a good experience at all. 16 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable and supporting After months of poor nights sleep and aches and pains I'm delighted to say this mattress has given me the support I need, where I need it and good night sleeps. Both my back and neck are much more mobile in the mornings. We had previously had the "rolls Royce" of mattresses - but it didn't suit my body in the same way. Some people commented on the smell, but we didn't notice it after the first night! 09 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful I suffer from ankylosing spondylitis and after sleeping on this mattress for just over a week, for the first time in years I have no pain or stiffness upon waking. It feels like pure luxury to lie on, very high quality and I cannot wait to get into bed each night. Can highly recommend. Delivery was superb too, very helpful delivery men. 24 June 2014
